Ben Barba eyeing NRL Return

Barba is high risk given his drug troubles. If we end up with Lolohea then there's no way the Tigers would consider him IMO.

Yeah spot on.

Barba won't be required as Lolohea will be Fullback unless he can play Centres ?

Who can play centre - Barba or Lolohea? Barba definitely couldn't handle the defence at centre and Lolohea would also make for an ordinary centre in defence (although much better than Barba).

I was referring to Lolohea if he can play Centre ? which i i'm not sure if he has or can ? Lolohea is being bought as our Fullback moving forward .

Tempting - had a great season for the Sharks last year …. but a massive risk. True proven fullback.... its very yep nup yep nup. Dont think they will go there anyway.

So are we drawing a line thru Barba

yes we are, pass it onto management

geeze, imagine if supporters were offered a say, what a nightmare that could create

I thought we where trying to develop a new culture at the club not expand a drug culture.Lovett needs to be shown the door also

I know barba got caught with cocaine, but you have to relise he isn't the only player in the NRL doing drugs, I'm not saying sign him up as I don't think he would be a good fit but it was proven recently that drugs are rampant in the NRL with SKD, sharks CEO and Bromwich and the other kiwi player caught with drugs, you have a lot of young guys getting paid big bucks with a lot of disposable income it's bound to happen I'm not saying I know the numbers on how many players are on drugs in the NRL but I'm sure it's quite a lot

If it was for a minimum contract, I'd take him. Wouldn't be offering him much though, as it would be a risk. Same with Idris, base contract only.

High risk given his issues. Why have they not renewed? Don't think it would be good to have another high risk player on the books. That's a no from me.

I do not think he is the type of player we want, okay he can do freakish things but I think we are trying to build a really strong power based team and getting away from the flashy stuff. Also our brand name has taken a real thrashing in recent times so I think we have to be really careful to avoid bad press where possible and it is always just around the corner with Barba

Barber will find it hard to find a club with sponsors not being happy with drug taking at roosters and sharks. What club would take him on what the spot light in drugs at the moment?

I must admit I find it extremely depressing that the objections to Barba based on off-field stuff are all about recreational drugs rather than the fact he beat up his girlfriend (and had it covered up by his then club). If I had to work with someone who does a bit of coke at the weekend or someone who occasionally gets angry and hits his wife I know which I'd prefer.
