We should let him go. I love the guy and I reckon he should play on if he wants too. I just think we need to move forward with a different halves combination.

If he was willing to play reserve grade and was given just a reserve grade contract I'd be cool with it.

We need to treat our past champions better if we want to attract and retain future champions.

NO player is bigger than the club... Plenty of top line players have been moved on by their clubs

It cuts both ways ...just like a knife it cuts both ways ......Benji severed his ties with the WT's in a disgusting way ...and swore he couldn't play against us ...yet he did ...and when we finally said NO again to Benji last season he got all funky again .....

I see Liam Fulton as more a champion than Benji or even Robbie ...Liam agreed to go overseas to keep our club salary cap under par

He can get his $150k in marketing and promotions for the Tigers. No one would begrudge that.

But he wants to play. Some people are just intent on playing and good luck to him. Thats his choice.

Even though its just reggies, they still have expectations to be successful. Benji has shown no signs/traits of being able to be a full time coach let alone player/coach. Would be a poor move by the club and could set the up and coming reserve players development back.

That aside I just can't see Benji accepting a reserve grade contract after being knocked back by multiple NRL clubs, would be embarrassing for himself.

With the current talk centering around Benji being offered $150K for a year with the Roosters, I wonder if we couldn't do something to keep him in our colours, in spirit at least. Could we give him the same amount to be captain/coach of the Wests Magpies. He gets some money, some time for a bit of media work, doesn't take a spot in the 30, and creates massive interest in the reserve grade comp. I assume we'd need to throw the coach bit in there or his wage would kill us cap wise. Surely the NRL/NSWRL would sign off on this for the interest generation alone.

And then if there is a few injuries he could come back into the FG team. Except, its the last game of the season and Wests are playing at LO against Penrith....plot twist, WT need the win to secure their first finals appearance in a decade.

As long as he is not our 5/8 in 2021 onwards - I don't care what the Rorters do with him CB.
