I know we haven't had much good news the last couple of years but I see some slight changes which give me hope. Sheens back to give us direction off the field, Benji now on board and returning to his home, flicking our old defence coach and replacing with new blood and a group of young fella's who have the potential to build into a good side. You never know and by the way I still believe in Santa. !!!!!!

Benji is gonna have no influence on the field. He’ll be in corporate boxes sipping champagne. A pure PR move by the club. His role has no significance

Whether his role is on or off the field is irrelevant …. this move has a lot of upside and is significant for the look of the Club.

I completely disagree. It is the exact opposite of a good look for the club. The "look", to me, is that the plan for the future is to forget about the evolution of the game, ignore the opportunity for innovation and generational change, and reinstate Sheens, McDonnell and Marshall to bolster their pensions; because it's "nice" and "deserved".

Chairman Mouth, Pascoe and Board have no vision, at all. This cannot be considered a serious, professional NRL club with that lot ruling the roost.

I think we need Benji far more than he needs us atm. I would suggest that most ex players that have achieved success at their clubs are invited back to promote the club and the game to sponsers, families/prospective players, and Benji is arguably one the most recognized players in recent times. How can he not be a good addition?

If that's all he does, the "fairy floss stuff" then that's fine. But I would like to know how much he is being paid and what are his KPIs?

Cant answer that. I just think it's important to have someone advocating for your club in the media and I expect Benji to remain active in that arena.

Yeah until he gets let go again ...and we can start pulling the knives out of our backs again ......piss off Benji ....the remora of the WT's .....

Seriously

This bloke took a significant pay cut to keep Chris Lawrence with the club.
He is not about money, I believe he really wants to help the club in anyway he can.

Btw would you like to tell us how much you are paid and your KPI's. It has nothing to do with you or any body else except him and the club.

Well said.

The only employment there that is wasted is McDonnell.

Benji adds in a sponsor facing role he will bring money and that we’ll known face we need. Likeable in the wider community

Sheens brings football knowledge but has been given the wrong role

It may be the very thing WT have continually failed at? Utilising people’s skills?
Giving good people jobs and tying one of their hands behind their back or blocking their path? Overruling decisions well within their authority to make?
Far too many people, players and admin alike, leave the club in anger.

Could you see any other of the 15 clubs giving someone a 3rd chance after what he had done to WT's each time after not getting his way

Your answer is there .....

Benji sticks his knife into the WT's ...and how do we respond .....welcome back Benji ......

And this is exactly what is wrong with with this club and why it is a complete failure ......

I agree. Every time Benji hasn’t gotten his way he stomps his feet and blames the club. Constant criticism but it’s fine because he knows he can walk back in whenever he wants.

Sadly half the fans go along with his victim mentality

And it's the same mentality with how people have just accepted what has happened with our recruitment over the last 10 years

Can you imagone fans back in 2009-2011 accepting the playing talent we are currently looking at signing ...people have been completely desensitized year after year .....

?
Why carryon about a decision that has been made as if your opinion matters one iota?
Stamping your feet gets none of us anywhere.
I look forward to your assessment if these changes reap a finals appearance because nothing the club has tried for a decade has worked. These guys together have delivered our only successes as a club…you have no evidence that it will fail at this stage.

I don't - The fact he "assumed" he should be offered a contract last year "If he decided to play on" was not lost on me,
Or the rubbish that came before when he wanted a 2 year extension on a deal he still had 2 years on and he was playing garbage....
It's always been about him, Until there was someone to blame for not winning...
He distanced himself from that really well in his time here.

I don't think having a guy that never learnt to play the game (in 20 years) coaching is a good idea... Not at all.
But if he's going around gathering up kids to be put through the system.... It's Benji Marshall - I feel a lot more people are going to take him on board than they are a Warren McDonnell type...

That’s exactly it - young kids and sponsors yes; football team no

He actually analyses the game really well. I like how he breaks down plays and think his input could be valuable in that role.
