funny how it is only coming up now Some people really s/'t me . If the bird is found out to be lying she should be locked up

For how long?

Until they bring back capital punishment might teach a few people just "to get over it' . We have the tragic events in Christchurch and Japan still unfolding and people go on with this garbage .

I look forward to the Irish government complaining about a joke Benji told 5 years ago. An ashen faced Danny Weidler can interview distressed Irish backpackers…

Maybe Benji could put a complaint in himself Oh no thats right he has no rights does he No rights to phsyically defend himself no right to say anything Maybe someone will ban him from using oxygen next

Benji Marshall allegedly used foul language on flight following All Stars match

BENJI Marshall is "gobsmacked" at the claim. The NRL spent most of yesterday investigating another alleged grubby incident before apologising.

But if you listened to the Townsville mother and daughter I spoke to yesterday, the words that allegedly came from Marshall's mouth on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney the morning after last month's All Stars match were nothing short of filthy.

When Marshall was charged with assault following an altercation outside of McDonald's in The Rocks last Saturday morning, Jennifer Robinson immediately recognised this so-called face of the game on subsequent news reports.

She fired off a letter to NRL boss David Gallop during the week explaining how she and her 21-year-old daughter were sitting two rows back from Marshall and other All-Stars players on the Flight QF529.

Mrs Robinson explained in graphic detail how Marshall had allegedly made lurid remarks about a woman, and told this column it was well within earshot of other passengers.

We won't repeat the comments here but they are best described as XXX-rated - at the very least.

"I saw him on television and thought, 'There's Mr Loudmouth'," Mrs Robinson said from Switzerland where she is on holidays. "He's not the perfect angel that some might make him out to be."

Her daughter, who declined to be named, said: "He [Marshall] looked at me after he said it and just smiled. I'm a young girl, and the way he was speaking was disgusting."

The NRL spoke to both women, who did not back away from the claims. They also spoke to several players on the flight and they could not recall the incident.

"There were no other complaints from any passengers and there is no suggestions of improper language being directed at anyone," Gallop said. "Clearly, though, it is a reminder to all players to be considerate of the people around them.

"We have reinforced that message and we have apologised to the woman for any offence that she and her daughter felt." Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys contacted Marshall and his Tigers teammate Liam Fulton, who was also on the flight.

"Both of them were very surprised that any of the players' behaviour on that flight caused concern," he said.

"Benji was gobsmacked at the suggestion. If anything was overheard, we unreservedly apologise."

Neither Mrs Robinson nor her daughter are rugby league fans. For all concerned, let's hope it was nothing more than an error of judgement.

anyone care to point out the obvious flaws in this claim?

what a joke. What's next? Benji spotted NOT FLUSHING THE TOILET!!!!
jesus christ…

well if anything, the Japan tsunami might just keep this garbage out of the headlines

Ok I'm going to try and break this ridiculous story down….

Ok, she noticed his face when he was on the news where he allegedly got into a fight last week and suddenly she remembered him but when he was in the news for launching the 2011 NRL season which was televised in news across Australia yet she couldn't write to David Gallop then?

Mrs Robinson said from Switzerland where she is on holidays.

While preparing for an international flight, this lady takes time out to send David Gallop a letter because she suddenly remembers Benji from that flight which was about 2 months ago?

They also spoke to several players on the flight and they could not recall the incident.

Hmmmmm perhaps it wasn't Benji who said anything **IF** anything was said at all.

Neither Mrs Robinson nor her daughter are rugby league fans. For all concerned, let's hope it was nothing more than an error of judgement.

I love this line! It's an admission that the lady isn't 100% sure that Benji or any other NRL player said anything at all!

Toughen up princess.! I was at the SOO 20 years ago and 40000 people were chanting "Wally is a wan***" in unison. I was simply appalled.

How is this even news! I'm sure over half the population drop the occasional f-bomb. Telegraph is gutter journalism.

I was in Woolies in 2006 and Benji had 16 items in the Expess lane which clearly says 15 OR LESS. Wiedler said they'll cut 60 Minutes on Sunday night to 45 so he can run one of his "Exclusives".

If this woman was so offended by what she alleges that Benji had said why didn't she complain to the flight crew??

Precisely!…Why has it taken over a month for "her" to act?..

And let me ask is she really a Tourist from Switzerland?...or some aggrieved person trying to make out they are a Tourist????...If I were the NRL I'd ask her to fly down to Sydney for an interview...and watch her not show up!

She's on holidays in Switzerland at the moment. What doesn't sit well with me is according to the SMH she took time out of her holidays to specially write an e-mail to David Gallop about this incident. So obviously she was that offended a month later to take time out of her holiday to e-mail David Gallop, why didn't she make a complaint on the spot?

Another thing that I dont understand, how did she know who to send her e-mail if she wasn't a rugby league fan??

If she took time out from her holidays to write the email how did she even see the news coverage in the first place. As far as I recall Switzerland doesn't carry Australian news broadcasts

What a joke, I can't beleive the papers buy into this crap and even spell out it is a nothing incident. If you're admitting there is nothing to it in the first place why write the article?

Much ado about nothing now that the NRL have apologised to Benji over the unsubstantiated claim.

Maybe we can get her on the watch list after this act of terrorism?
