so whats the news

Announcement of a scholarship and mentoring for a young kid.

Oh…that's nice

On another note, did anyone see the interview on Channel 9 where Benji refuted the implication that he was involved in Tim Sheens' sacking?

Benji is just like Hayne - choc full of skills and talent that we see so little of on a regular basis. I must say that I'd prefer a consistently good Widdop to an inconsistently great Marshall. I think it would be much better for the team too.

Mark my words, it will be the best thing to happen to this club in a while. We will continue to dish up the crap we have been while he is here.

WOW ! You really don't like Marshall, and who do you suggest we replace him with ? Considering you last 2 comments in this thread have been idiotic, i'm expecting a stupid answer also.

What more could he do most try assists last year 2nd most line break assists it's our defence not just benji

I see your point but i believe Hayne is in a class all by himself in that regard. Probably the laziest player of his ability to ever play the game. Marshall will at least try something when the game is on the line, Hayne doesn't want the ball

Remember when the bastard beat us almost single-handedly and knocked us out of the finals race with his chip and chase in '09 late in the game?

Benji has now deleted his twitter account….

Really? Hallelujah if that's the case. The rest of the team should be forced to follow suit IMO

Twitter is a great avenue for fans to interact with players. Not everyone lives in Sydney to make it to events, training or home games and say gday.

Even if its just reading stupid banter between team mates, or a "I'm off to the movies!" type stuff, its something to embrace. The NRL in general has always been on the back foot with this stuff IMO.

Maybe he should stop playing the fool with fathead & sterlo on thurs nites as well

Absolutely. It seems that some of our players are more concerned with being a celebrity than a successful footballer. Sick of it

Yep, and since that run he had he's done absolutely jack. What Gus said the other night about how certain parts of Hayne's game leave him cold was 2 yrs over due

So we. get 4 pages arguing about benji and molten as usual and a one liner on a scholarship for a kid. Getting the scholarship probably meant a lot to the his and the family hope he hasn't ventured on here to see what people thought about it

Unfortunately this is 'the state of affairs', why comment on the facts when you can insinuate? :frowning:

Well what do you think was going to happen on here?? Why not just announce that the Kid got a scholarship instead of announcing that you have an announcement to make later. I'm sure that everyone concerned is very excited no matter what we think on this forum or they would not have applied for the scholarship in the first place. All the smart arse scenarios made me laugh, they were very well done.

Danny Wiedler reported in the Herald today he is looking at a three year extension, five more years in total.
Not sure if it's related but that would be big news.
