Benji return

It is very early to ask, but if union didn't work out for him, would you accept benji back at the tigers in 2015/16?
Its fair to say he has recaptured some of the form that made him who he is, and with Brooks with him, we have seen how he goes.

Honestly, if Moses can cut his teeth at the top level, and we can hang onto most of the kids, I dont really see a place for him in the squad… I dont think I would want him back in the halves anyway.

I liked him opportunistically drifting around without a set position against St George. He looked good in the centres in attack, although I've never thought he was up to playing centre defensively. Anytime we've had a real halfback, Benji's looked good. Don't see why we couldn't give him a go on a much reduced salary down the track once we've got Brooks properly settled in. He's said he won't play for any other NRL club, so a return to the Tigers would be his only road back into league. Depends on who we run at number 6 next year I guess, if Moses does well, that rather shuts the door on Benji.

I think he can do alright in union, not sure how hard the transition will be. But given his recent form, i'm convinced he's still got something to offer to rugby. Perhaps not at a All black level, but i can definitely see him playing out the next couple of years at the Blues. He'll likely retire early in any case due to his shoulders.

Yes definitely …. Would love to have seen him stay for one more year to see how he would have gone with Brooks as half. Can't see it happening with Potter there but if the results don't come and he gets shafted you never know what might happen.

Don't want him back Potter had a lot of issues with Benji , the team is playing as one with everyone doing their job.

The rumours doing the rounds is the Sharks are interested in Benji , they can have him as far I am concerned , plus his style of play would ruin our direct play up the middle of the ruck.

I would rather invest the money in our Juniors than someone that is well past his best.

For me it would be a step backwards. We are playing so different now!. I have been outspoken about him in the past but I'm actually feeling sorry for him now. Hope he starts to find his feet in Union.

Watch this space… Somebody is a little homesick, hating Rugby and his club needs some holes filled..

Benji, to the Sharks…?

Not to the Sharks… Think closer to home... Think WT injuries, think Kidwell kiwi connection..

benji moved on, it was his decision.
so have wests-tigers.
the team has shown he is not needed there, to be successful.
**simple as that.**

"simple as that" I was a big fan of marshall. I can't see him accepting the pay I would offer if it were my decision. Everyone has moved on!

The Sharks, made me laugh, they have a 6,although he is not real interested now he thinks the season is gone after round 5.
But Benji back to us would have to be Potters terms and way less money, can't see Benji liking either of those.

Imagine Benji playing off the back of a dominate pack, when the game is faster, when he doesn't need to play half back.

Seriously… Benji would kill it. I'd have him in a discounted fire sale heart beat.

If he doesn't play well - bench him

I think it'd be great to see how he performs with a dominant forward pack and a proper halfback but as someone mentioned earlier it'd be a step backwards. The team seem to be going a lot better with a more structured style of play and don't seem to rely so much now on one or two players and putting Benji back into the team would probably ruin that. Not to mention the amount of talented juniors we'd probably lose if he were to come back. Hopefully he ends up succeeding at union because despite everything he's done for the Tigers over the years I don't really think he'd fit anymore.

I love Benji. He has been out best player. He also looked great on occassions last year.

I don't want him back at this point though. I just think we have to retain our young talent and I'd rather spend the money on our juniors. If he was willing to sign for a pittance and reign in his game as Farah has done this year he could kill it again however I think the risk is too high.

I'd love to have him back for one last season and give him a proper send off for his time here. But for that to happen he would have to take a backseat as a playmaker and go for an running game impact role (he did ok at that in the centers in Brooks debut), and it would have to be for small dollars. We can't lose a single one of our young guns.
