Benji return

Agree supercoach he needs a team firing rather then a dud team lacking confidence and organisation. However I can't see Mcguire going there, he has already been burnt by a washed up Lote. Sutton has been great since going back to 6 and Keary is coming back later in the year, a payer they have massive wraps on.

I think the Tigersharks are red hot favourites. They are desperate and he has strong mates there that will get in the coaches ear. They are a weak organisation and would have no hesitation adding another ageing player hoping for 1-2 good years.

Wildcard could be the Bulldogs, Using him as a fullback alone. Might provide a bit of missing spark and chiming in to a side that is tough and stable.

Reminded of Marshall’s parting comment that he would never play against the West Tigers, Tauber said: “Well, he has given me the instruction to try and find him an NRL club. That comment he made was probably made at the wrong time. It won’t exist.”

Translation: It was BS!

Where will Souffs get the money?

They have cap space for 2014, they saved space for Fergo in case the NRL decided to register a contract. Souths are the one club he might succeed, big forward pack with plenty of go forward and of course GI would be a handy target for some of Benji's great passes.

It would be crazy going to the Sharks, he needs a team firing, not a team on struggle street

Souths have signed Stewart from Manly for next year.

I was just looking at the fox sports site. They had an article that purported to have canvassed all the clubs re interest in Marshall. By far the majority of clubs said an emphatic NO or no interest. The only club leaving the porthole ajar was the Tiger sharks.

Latest i have heard is that WT could only offer him match payments for rest of 2014\. He wants to go back to WT and wanted what he had in place last year (original contract). Mayer's statement was to deflect the attention from WT and focus on their on field success.

Just had a chat with a x tiger player who is a mate of Benchy and there is strong Mail the Tiger sharks will get him , Noyce is keen to have him with Melbourne in the hunt but won't pay overs for him so the favourites are the Sharks at the moment.

To be quiet honest I couldn't give a rats where he goes as long as it not at the Tigers.

I don't get the hate. I believe he would be great for us… Gee especially for match payments.

Everyone looks different when the pack is going forward. Potter is now a genius that he has less injuries in this forward pack and better talent. It wasn't Marshall's fault our pack sucked last year. It wasn't his fault we had no half back and he was forced to play out of position.

He will earn all year from his blues contract so he may accept something small.

Remember that everyone at the club speaks very highly of him. The guy was a deadset super star for years. He's not old, he was just bored. Anyone done the same job for 10 years having achieved everything already.

He would come back hungrier than a Bloke trying to resist a sausage sandwich at Bunnings on a sat afternoon.

If that is true, it is hilarious.

He wanted out (whether pushed or his own decision is irrelevant) and now he wants his old deal back?

Tigers 5/7 and Benji limping back from rugby? Somebody needs to talk to the lad about positions of power during negotiations.

I welcome him back to league, but he has cost himself a fortune unless he can snag a small interim contract and then play himself back into a richer one.

But with Heigno gone who would organise the lunches WAAHHHHHHH.

Sorry but just no.

His last season and the carry on through Tauber was enough. That Footy Show sulk fest means I would prefer never to see him in WT colours again

I mostly agree with you. I think Benji could be very handy this season. But however cheap he may be this year, he'd be expecting decent money the next. Money we can't afford if we're expecting to keep our youngsters together.

On the other hand, I think Mayer is happier with our culture at the moment and wouldn't take him back.

Exactly he took a gamble and lost , we have planned and signed players around his decision to leave , we offered him an extended deal last year and more money when he was playing crap , but got greedy and wanted his hand shake deal honoured by previous Management , threw his dummy from the Cot and now wants back his deal he was with us previously , Doesn't work that way if true :crazy
We have moved on Still love ya Benji

Agree. The bloke became bigger than the club.

There was even a shot of Potter talking to him in the sheds and him looking elsewhere with a face like thunder. It was just a sulk fest.

I hope his plight and the Tigers resurgence would have humbled him somewhat. If it has, he could provide some decent value at another side, just not us.

He played and behaved his way out of the Tigers, and there is no going back.

I thank him for the great memories, but way he conducted himself last season was really childish for a senior pro.

All I can say is if he wanted his original contract that he turned down he has some hide, if he was to come back on a minimal contract/match payments that would be the right thing to do. But that won't happen and I wish him well at his new club there's no loyalty in football anymore from either side, he wouldn't or couldn't play against us just a throw away comment apparently.
