Benji, this is your chance

Yeah sack him bring in Potter, actually get Madge back with shit roster, everything will be golden. Then watch Luia and co run away laughing, brilliant ideas here no wonder we haven't played finals since Jesus was a kid.
So whats your big brain solution?

Taylor always gets good raps as an assistant coach just couldn’t convert to being a NRL coach. Cartwright & Potter were the same.
Yea, but Taylor is very square britches...

He fired Pat Richards because he couldn't deal with a WInger who could be a playmaker.
Some of his decisions were spot on, Marty Taupau, Moving Lawrence.

Ultimately he could not manage people and Moses, Teddy and Brooks all went to the market.

Again Taylor failed to recognise Moses as the half with Brooks as the 5/8... Also failed to train up a kicker, which really got me.

Better off no where near him.

But what’s the future hold , we are getting a 1/2 back and a winger , think that will improve this team , NOT a hope in hell .
Need 3-4 forwards a GOOD winger and a centre, that’s the only way this team improves. BUT , Richo and benji only want to go with kids , they most be related to BOWEN , stick ur head in the sand and hope
What's this BOWEN remark about? Matty Bowen of the Cowboys? ??

But yes, we got to stop hiring KIDS. You just can't have the blind leading the blind. We don't have the maturity of the training staff nor the club culture to instill the right attitude.

Now, we need some solid forwards. If we loose Stef, which is likely then I really worry that Luai will have no impact. Were going to go back to 2022 with Madge where we were missing our forward pack.

We definately need a back that can shutdown the opposition attack. We just loose so much momentium with the Amatuer hour backs we got.

Not sure if this is the right thread .... but IMO Benji should have been the last choice to take the reigns of the WT.
After 25 years, it's evident to all that we have a DNA - keep the ball alive, score more points than concede, little emphasis on defence, little emphasis on junior development. This has been a complete failure for about 21 of those 25 years.
It also seems evident that Benji knows no other way - and he's got the 'yes' men all around him telling him this is the way to go.
It's just insane to think this will work in any capacity - and if it did, how short-lived that success would be. It just isn't building the foundations of success.
Why aren't we teaching our kinds to tackle? From Ball to Flegg to Cup to NRL it's always the same. Why can't we teach our kids how to build into a game, to be patient, to play football that doesn't always lead to errors, that reward comes from effort + intelligence.
Surely Richo can see this - by putting in another experienced coach to support Benji, nothing will be solved. It's time they stopped everything and reevaluated who we are as a football brand, accept the mistakes, eat humble pie, and start again.

At some point we have to follow through with a plan or no one will buy anything we are trying to sell. This is not the squad this year that was going to turn things around. Can't keep sacking coaches on the back of weak squads surely we have learned that. Strengthen the squad then make the coach accountable.

The players that are here already, and prospective recruits ( where are they?) need to buy into “the plan “…

Do you think Galvin will re-sign with the club if they are bottom of the table next year waiting for “the plan “ to work ?

Of all our problems. John Morris isn't one of them.

Maybe he is overhyped. But I have seen our defense improve, not drastically but significantly.

Yes Sheens and Benji have done great in the recruitment department. What they haven't done is transfer that into onfield performance.
This is just dumb.
All of it.

At the same time last season defensively we were a 60+ point better team.

The most telling stat is that in 23 we had 7 close games compared to 2 by round 20 this season.

Our defense hasn’t improved in games it’s gotten worse. All defensive stats show this.

Everyone wrote off Ciraldo .....me included ....I'd kill and die for him now .....Dogs are playing the tough nut footy I'd like to see us playing week in week out
But they have some tough nut players, our players are just nuts.

Hate Cowboys but still enjoyed Dogs getting beat.

Yep 👍
He learned at his time at The Pamfers that line speed, kick chase and overall defensive resilience will always have you in the game. All that really basic stuff that we seem to completely neglect.

If Galvin has his sights playing in a better system with stronger more successful teams then he will leave regardless.
Great squads and strong management make successful coaches. Lachlan is a desirable player - he is always going to have options and a club thats only action is to sack coaches on the back of a weak squad is never going to appeal to a player who can line up besides teams that can compete.
How many coaches did Brooks have here?

Maybe its not Morris fault, but Morris apparently is responsible for defence. I dont know what is going on with WT coaching staff but something sure isnt working. Interested to see the piece earlier this week that Benji rejected getting Holbrook on the staff, then I recalled something from the past that Sheens too didnt want anyone on the coaching staff that could potentially threaten or outshine him. Wondering now, whether Benji is of the same mindset. Morris has a better coaching background and was also a fill in fulltime first grade coach for Cronulla who are materially a much better team with better personnel and a recent track record much, much better than WT.

Something is up and not working, who at WT is currently qualified to look under the hood and see the gremlins or otherwise? I dont think its Richardson who can do this aspect of things.
It's tough on the defence and attack when every week we are bringing in and dropping players, plus the fact we are fielding a really young side who most wouldn't have even debuted for another season or two at other clubs. We have no continuity I can't remember the last time we fielded the same squad two weeks in a row.

I wrote him off aswell but he is doing a great job at the dogs. The one I'm gutted we didn't get was Flanaghan.
