Big name player in trouble

Maybe its the psychologist coming out in me but you wonder what would make someone who was raised by one of the biggest fitness freaks, who would help little old ladies cross the road, turn into an absolute dreg on the drink.

Apparently his old man doesnt drink so Mitch is making up for the lack of alcohol consumption in the Pearce family all on his own.

Good news for the blues but bad news for the tigers. They will now go after brooks or moses or maybe chase them as a package deal and try and get them released for 2016.

Doubt it.

I would say it would have a lot to do with the 'sweet little Mitch can't do anything wrong' attitude that Rooster Pearce has heard all his life.
Feel sorry for Wayne- no prouder champion has ever graced the RL field IMO, but Mitchell seems like he never got the kick up the clacker that it is plain obvious he has deserved. MP has always come across as an untouchable spoilt brat tosser.

I'm sure there's a bit of all that in there but, like elephants, some people are just jerks (to paraphrase the Simpsons)

I thought Pearce seemed pretty jovial for a totally paraletic drunk guy. It's certainly disgraceful and undignified but I wouldn't call it vile or immoral behaviour. Just like, the drunkest guy at the party. Pretending to hump a dog while drunk wouldn't rate in the top 50 of things I've seen drunk people do that was inappropriate.

He's a happy drunk… 😕 and a Jerk...

In the grand scheme of things it was pretty harmless. Russ Packer tried to stomp some bloke's head into hamburger mince and he is suiting up again in the NRL this season so basically it is a free-for-all…...do whatever you like.

Huge boo to the idiot who leaked it.

He has just ended Pearces career.

And was paid $60k for the footage apparently

NOt bad for two minutes of camera work.

Media will make a fortune out of it!

Still think its weak but man a 60k pricetag is tempting!

Good point.

And he weed on the field!

This guy, and many others in the main game are gold plated knobs. Doesnt matter if you did something worse on the drink so you think its no big deal.

He's representing a club as captain, and also has representative honours awarded to him. He represents the fans and sponsors and is paid exxtremely well for the privelige.

What I don't get is, why keep him and others in our game when there are 100 young guys desperate for a break and would do anything to represent all of the above with dignity and class. These guys should be punted first up and they can become a has been whilst someone else with better attitude, potential, credentials etc get the break they deserve.

Big deal or not, media beat up or not, GET RID OF THIS TYPE OF GRUB FROM OUR GAME AND TURN IT INTO THE TOP LINE GAME THAT IT SHOULD BE!

Pearce clearly has no self control when drinking alcohol so whatever happens to him now so be it - you only get so many chances. But gee I hate this video shaming culture that we have become. Quite frankly the less I know about what current NRL players do in their private lives the better. Too much money and no common sense.

They paid overs.

Bloke is a dope and the footage was unflattering but I found that faux Eastern Suburbs accent on the woman to be just as offensive as Pearce's shenanigans. "Get Ahhhht. Ahhhht. Ahhhhf limits!"
