Our mate Danny Weidler in today's Sun Herald states that his team mates completely support Mitch joining them, Danny states give him 6 weeks and hefty fine. Bit OTT I reckon, cut both those penalties by half would be more like it at the most.

Only six weeks on the sideline for an offence like that. I wonder how players feel when they off the sideline for that amount of time (six weeks) even though they have been well behaved for years?

Monaghan should be talking to his lawyer

Thailand for rehab?? Oh please, what a joke

Most likely The Cabin in Chiang Mai, which is an excellent service.

I've worked in the field my whole career, Few people change such behaviour within 3-4 weeks. It takes roughly 3 months to form new habits for a start, such that they become intrinsically motivating.

There's a slim chance though that he may have scared himself enough to change.

I hope for his sake he's not just telling everyone what he thinks they want to hear. Change takes genuine humility.

Getting back to footy won't be enough.

Maybe if it was his first offence , but it's not his first offence

Fine pretty well spot on

But I want the NRL to tell him its his last chance , if he screws up again its adios amigos

No ifs , buts or maybe's about it

I still think he should have his contract torn up.

Im with Willow. Anything less is a farce.

If they did rip up his contract and dad brought him to WT at bargain price bring it on - he has no injuries! He can read the Culture Club booklet and take the oath before leaving the premises.

if the offence had of been done by a struggling state cup player,he'd be gonskis.

but i suppose pearces public profile was the motivation for the bloke to video the scene in the first place.

in the daily telegraph this morning catherine Lumby, nrl womens adviser ,stated that pearce should not be allowed back in the game forevever. She does, however feel compassion for the family and recognises pearces alcohol issues.

so a mamby pamby decision on pearces future wont placate a large section of the general public.the nrl cannot stand on the platform of women in league and or family involvement in the game if they dont send strong messages to players.

so how powerful will nick ness and his untouchables be in this issue,
should be fascinating viewing.

He should be banished from the game for a while. Jake Friend spent time as a sandwhich hand following some dramas. Mitchell can become a dog walker for a few months.

No decent dog owner, would want him near their beloved pooches…Hehehehe.

He complained of jet leg. :unamused: Try flying Economy class Mitch boy, then you'll know what jet leg is really all about… 😕

Every time I hear or read a media release on the subject they are talking the possible suspension down. A day after the event experts were talking a year, than the other day it was maybe 6 weeks and last night the ABC stated the chooks were rumoured to be looking at about two weeks. I guess if they say two weeks, the integrity committee will think 6 weeks is a really hefty punishment and the Chooks had probably thought 6 weeks was about right all the time. Than they will avoid what it reeky deserves and that is about 6 months or more

I probably said this earlier in the thread, i'm not sure, but the biggest offense i've found in this incident wasn't what he did with the dog, it was the absolute arrogance he had. I'd suspend him for that alone, walking around in the video like he was a hero and 10 foot tall. These guys really need to be knocked down a peg or too.

I am all for two weeks and let him shout the lady a dozen bottle of good champers, flowers plus cleaning expenses. It was only the grog talking.

Maybe get Mitchell Pearce to be in an advertising campaign.
Him saying, " Alcohol, too much, hurts not just you",

I agree SC. And Lo and Behold he reappears just in time for kick off. Funny that.

All his stupid antics have happened while intoxicated etc. If he can't handle it, he shouldn't be taking it. It's that simple.
Time to show some maturity Mitch. The " it's only the grog talking" is a cop out, in my opinion.

The only fix to this problem though not easy is to not partake in the substance that is causing you the issues and I mean NONE! ..After a good period off it your life changes completely for the better and you become enlightened to the other life path you have chosen .
