Sadly you are right.

But our on-field image is of a mentally weak team who lack aggression, regularly get belted by opposition teams and lack heart, mongrel and impact.

An infinitely better backline than we have currently taking the field and both Nofoaluma and Ferguson can play in multiple positions so versatile.

If Ferguson becomes a bad influence off the field then we rip up his contract. Pretty simple. It's a win win.

When you refute a position by substituting a similar but different proposition then refute it without ever addressing the original position, thats a textbook strawman.

Also I must have missed the part in Fergusons game where he wee's ambrosia on a consistent basis. Our backline struggled but thats not a reason to jump on a loose cannon just because he popped up (which he hasn't even done yet).

Our side needs help in other positions first.

Defensive coach and if we keep seeing this teams week in week out Head coach

Defence is the cornerstone to most Tigers victories , and we looked like soft swiss cheese on Monday and won't be surprised if Penrith put 30 + on us Sunday

Sick of trying to be positive ,call it as I see it and if other forum members don't like it neg rep to hell if you like
 
The thing that pisses you off is that we still have a good line up but we just dont seem to perform we could at least try better then do nothing i cant wait to see who we recruit for the 2014 season and if there will be a massive clean out at the end of the year.

What goes on behind the scenes with Mason then? Unless you are going to tell us all then I'll take your insinuation for what it is: an insinuation. Nothing backed up by fact.

Fact: Mason was available for peanuts last year
Fact: Mason was signed by Bennett, one of the games most experienced and successful coaches. If he was such a cancer as you are hinting at Bennett wouldn't have touched him with a 10 ft pole
Fact: Mason has been outstanding since he was thrown a lifeline

Why rush to sign Ferguson? Well, there are plenty of reasons. The main two that our backline is in desperate need of speed, hight and aggression and the fact that he is a far better player than most of the players we have playing first grade.

Is he a risk? Of course. But beggars can't be choosers when you are in our situation with limited dollars and a mediocre squad.

As for sticking to "quality, hard working, honest types" well that has certainly won us plenty of football games lately, hasn't it? :crazy

I won't be going into any facts on here to make you feel better about it. I'm happy with my position and you can take my comments as insinuations, allegations, dribble or whatever you like.

I think the point is that I fail to see the need why us or any other club needs to take a risk on any player that can't simply respect themselves. There are thousands of younger players or in some cases others who just need an opportunity and will come with respect and desire to play for themselves, their mates and the club.

Theres a process to playing good footy, and theres a process to fixing several seasons of crap recruitment

You have a hole in the roof and the rain comes in and ruins your carpet…..do you buy new carpet and forget the roof when theres rain forecast for the rest of the season?

First things first

Theres no point ''strengthening" the sidelines when the ruck is as tight as soggy tissue
 
Be a great pick up, but will not happen. The raiders got burnt when they flicked Carney, doubt they would flick Dugan and Ferguson

Seriously though, Bennetts mantra "we not only want to make them better footballers, but better men" isnt a culture that is nurtured many places else. I think Mason is one of those guys who needs the extra effort, otherwise left to his own devices runs off the rails. He does seem to come across more together these days, but that may be a byproduct of the Bennett platform…
 
I think the environment there is exactly what he needs. Its a shame we couldn't have provided it. I'm not sure either Sheens at the end of his tenure, or Potter at the beginning of his could provide the extra effort. I agree with exactly what you've posted.
 
Who cares what he does of the field I would take him in a heart beat any day over nofa, it's not like we are running bible study, I would also take back lui in a flash, the guys we've got a to soft we need some mugs that a big and tough.

Last year Utai was a pillar of strength, the first match, he looks out of his depth, that includes the rest of the team.We look weak, no strength, compared with the knights' players, and Utai's height is a disadvantage. Ferguson adds speed to the backline, someone to consider. Nevertheless Utai has my admiration for always trying, but we have to face reality.
