Blake Ferguson

We have genuine depth in the backline of real talent.

Hard to see the risk being taken.

Would be interested if we can pick up a quality prop off someone clearing the decks to fit Fergo in though

You are right, the Chooks or who ever might be tempted to release some quality in order to create cap space. I still think the powers to be at HQ would love to stand him down for a year, but that will depend on the final out come in his legal problems.

After the disrespect he showed his "Team mates" at the Sharks,
And then again at the Raiders… It's a HELL NO!!

Kid "can" play... But is a grub of the highest order!!

We got rid of Lui because of assault charges, And want to sign a guy who is "currently" on sexual assault charges??

If we sign him this year, And he is charged, found guilty and de registered (which he could possibly already be) Then what?

We can't afford to spend more money on our back line, Especially at the expense to the abundant amount of talent already there... Best backline in the world won't mean much if we can't get going forward up front!!

Again, Here we are speculating about backs... When we should be looking at forwards!!

We are still light on up front, We have only signed as many forwards as we let go this year and we were light on already!!

GET SOME QUALITY UP FRONT... The back end will take care of itself from there!!

thought he was a winger/fullback? like in SOO.

then im all for it, hope we dont lose any youngsters and this is coming out of lote, benji, utai and aysh's salaries not koro, simona etc.

**He used to play inside Sandor Earl**

Both on and off the field 😱pen_mouth:

Those two blokes were worryingly close. Remember seeing a segment on them on Fox and one of them has a tattoo that says "Dorguson", a reference to parts of both of their names. Disturbing to say the least.

A big No Thanks to Ferguson coming to the Tigers. He is more trouble than what he is worth and is best buddies with a flock of deadbeats and hangers-on. A circus is not what we need around the joint these days.

he has super star talent, but is a massive loose canon. …my gut always says no to this type. However often they work out great.

Like John Hopoate did for the Tigers

Its a risk you need to be willing to make , **for our situation if he doesn't work the downside will be minimal**

The upside of having a talented centre playing the football he is capable of could urn us into Top 8 contenders

But we need to do this and find a way to keep Nofoaluma ,Simona Koroibete if we decide to go down this track

Not an easy balancing act is it

Apart from throwing around $800 000 per season down the drain!

And if he gets himself in more strife off the field (almost guaranteed) it will be a hit to the image of our club that we just don't need after the last few seasons of lunacy that we have seen at board and team level.

So we don't want a soo centre/winger because of his past well we didn't want big willie either because of his past and that turned out good for us hey…....NOT FFS if he is available and keen to play with us I think the club should do it throw in a few clauses tell him 1 strike and your out win win for both parties

In all honesty though mate big Willie was okay for the first 2 months of the season and then he was pretty bloody ordinary…no big loss that we didn't pick him up.

And Blake Ferguson being the type of bloke that he is and the crowd that he has controlling him, THEY would be the ones wanting to dictate the terms and conditions of his contract, not the club that was looking at signing him. You only had to see the Ferguson/Mundine hand-up-the-arse puppet show press conference a few weeks back to see that he hasn't got enough of a brain to call his own shots or be prepared to accept any sort of responsibility for his life.

For the handful of good games we would get out of him he ain't worth the massive risk and financial outlay.

Read online that he may be in WT colours in 2014\. Can anyone confirm this?

Would love for us to sign him. It would be great for the club if he shows the on field form he showed this season. Get him in a tigers jersey watch other teams knock the decision to get him. Then watch the tigers rub in there face.

The good thing is apparently hes broke.

Not sure where the money has gone.

But if that is the case, he doesn't have great bargaining power when it comes to contract negotiations .

No more than $500k. In my opinion

we don't need him.

We have Nofoaluma, Koroibete, Richards, Lawrence, Simona already to fit in the side, all of whom are good enough.

We don't need some overpaid, loose cannon, braindead moron in the squad.

We need back rowers!!

No point having class all over the backline if you can't go forward and give your halves room to create, you just end up with, well what we had this year.

Why can't you people see the bleeding obvious.

Especially after the amount of coin wasted already on Blair and Anasta who have earnt about 10% of their respective salaries thus far.

Can't see how we'd have cap room to sign him.

And the Roosters do?
Our line-up on paper compared to others is average at best (take out the bias). If we don't have the cap room then no-one does!

And comments here that suggest that we need to sign a backrower rather than a representative centre/winger are off the mark IMO. It is not about opportunity cost. We should have enough room in the cap for him AND for backrowers! Don't go telling me that we don't have cap space left because Blair and Farah eat all our cap. That is just defeatist inferiority-complex speak.

**But** if it is about opportunity cost; then an average forward is still not worth missing out on Ferguson and I don't see us lining up bids for Corey Parker or Anthony Watmough or Glenn Stewart. So until we start getting forwards like that then let's get the best fken backline out there. At least we will have the star power to attract the big boys next year.

agreed bigsiro. no one is coming up in the forward pack of the same calibre as ferguson. we can look at purchhasing one next year for 2015and we can ofload blair to pay for it.

Mate I know that is a problem,
We have 3 young blokes coming into their own, Siro and bmm and sue. We have signed Patterson and halatau.

Not trying to be a smart arse, but who do you want to sign in the backrow that's realistic?

There is not much out there atm, that would consider leaving their club?

We'll have Halatau, Fulton and Anasta for the back row next year.

Thats about as threatening to a defensive line as Daniel Fitzhenry.

We need Ellis like back rowers, hard runners, hard tacklers, not amblers, not guys who tackle low and allow offloads.

Signing backs is a pointless exercise until we get our pack sorted out.

We have an abundance of forwards next season. Anasta is playing 6 and he still has to contend with a few others for that spot.
Sue/Siro/Paterson/Tapau/Blair/Woods/Galloway/Luani/BMM all have pretty good size on them.
More worried about our defense

I think our depth is ok apart from our halves. If Fergo could play 5/8, as much as a loose canon that he is, I'd snap him up in a second.

I think he is an outstanding talent. It is all about value.

Give him a 3 year deal - heavily back loaded. Put some strict rules round his off field behaviour and see how he goes. If stuffs up in the first year or two, the damage can be nullified. If he has been good for three years, then perhaps he has shown he has turned it around.
