BMM "likely" to be released

Classic case of 'Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane". Most teams have one. He was ours. I wish him well if they do release him. Hope he reaches his potential elsewhere. Yet another bargain buy at Melbourne perhaps?

selfishly, i want to keep all the off contract players in the team. even bmm, koro and moltzen.

i can relate to that.

Its like not wanting to share your toys when we were young, even if we werent playing with those toys but as soon as some one touched it we'd grab it saying MINE ..

In all honesty its hard to know who will develop to be the footballer on of the century and who will end up just being average.
Fifita is a good example of leaving us and kicking on
BMM could be next ? or average at the best.

A couple of times I really thought he would kick on here.

Good luck to him hopefully he steps up at level at a new club

Before the start of the season I would have been upset by this development. But with the emergence of so much forward talent at the club, it seems the best outcome for both parties. Gould and Cleary are pretty shrewd judges so it will be no surprise if he does come good for the Panfers.

A Keebra boy who really didn't get a go , I thought he could have been a commodity but the amount of first grade he got was dissapointing.

I wish him all the best , good luck Murdoch.

What are you talking about, he's played 52 games - including most of 2012/3.

The reality is he has been overtaken by better performing players. I like the bloke, I think he has a unique talent for line breaks, but 52 games is plenty of time to cement your position in a team.

Nobody would dump any of the current starting forwards for BMM, I think blokes like Ava (24 games), Taupau (28), Sue (21), Gavet (8), Akauola (4), Siro (25) have shown at least as much promise in less than half the games.

Didn't get a go? He's played like 60 games??!

Bmm is rumoured to be on well over 200k. He was re-signed whilst in form a few years back and was tipped to kick on to big things. He hasn't.With his money we could re-sign either Ava or Gavet and have a little left over to put towards someone else. Its a no brainer. Hopefully we dont have to pay him more than 50k.

Not really going to argue today , it's not the day for it.

Get back to me on how many he started and how many he was on the bench , I have him starting off the bench 90% of the time.

Might want to check that out , brahhhhh.

So what if he started on the bench, still got game time, still couldnt show consistency required to cement a spot…

He had enough opportunity, he really did, its just a shame he couldnt take the next step here. Hopefully he can kick on elsewhere, good luck to him.

Wow , I have opened up a few wounds here , BMM will one day with confidence from being in a starting 13 not 17 tear us apart , as did Fifita. I'm all for salt and pepper in our squad , obviously some aren't.

I respect your opinions without quoting you , I also understand we have had an early start to the day and might need a nanny nap.

I would like to end with SO WHAT , it's my opinion , it is a forum for discussion and creative criticism , subtlety is hard to find this day.

Starting or bench makes no difference really…its a 17 man game

50/60 games Sheens reckons youre a first grader, hes in reserves...we cannot afford to carry these paypackets in reggies

Cya Benny...its obvious he needs a change, he hasnt changed since hes been here, doesnt look likely to change anytime soon either

Seems to be performing since moving to prop. Would have loved to see him im firsts with a performing, dominating pack. Very surprised he hasnt been given a start over Ava.

100% spot on.

I don't want him to go because I think he could be a quality player but we have a tonne of talent and some of them will go to different clubs.

I can't see how we won't be paying a hundred or so .thousand of his wages for next year, or paying for the whole of this year on the basis of an immediate release to another club that will pay for next season and thus clear him from our books for salary cap purposes.

If I was CEO of another club, I would be going straight for Ava or Gavet anyhow based on current form, and as such would need a good sweetener to consider BMM over them.

He's a product of Tim sheens era where no matter how good or bad your form was, you still got a go the next week. Potter brought in a mentality of competing for your spot. Not only by your performances on the field but off it as well. BMM unfortunately didn't want to put in the hard yards at training and the off season and has been well and truly left behind by his team mates and has become the forgotten man

Are you serious….obviously you have not watched Ava play this year...

The difference is night and day, and it's Ava in front by a mile.

Trouble with BMM is - we've waited forever to see this coming of age - how long do we give the guy?

I mentioned this in a previous thread - his debut was during the Semi-Final vs the Roosters in 2010.

Doesn't feel that long ago - however that was 5 seasons ago.

FIVE.

Ill put it into perspective - Our current halfback today would have just turned 14 years old.

That's an awful long time of waiting for someone to "reach his potential"

We can't wait forever. If the boy kicks on at Penrith - good luck to him. If he doesn't, then no loss.

I think the Fouitaka tragedy has messed up big Ben more than most think though.
