Bon Jovi for This Year's Theme

I find it interesting that the NFL happily use pieces from Wolfmother and/or Jet to promote their game, yet we would choose a post relevant remnant from the 1980's to front our code's seasonal promotion? There's not a child between the ages of 10 and 16 who would have one living clue who Bon Jovi are.

Kylie, Wolfmother, Jet, Keith Urban et al are not my cup of tea, but surely would have more relevance to a greater number of Australians than a 'big hair', three chord, poor man's Led Zep?

i know this is a fake one….

... but still i think its good...

I woiuld like the NRL to send out a competition to the fans to write the song.
Then they narrow it down to 5 or so and the fans vote on which one they want.

Then get as many fans as they can to come to ANZ Stadium to sing the song together.
Imagine 80,000 people singing a purpose made NRL Song.

And maybe get the players involved with the song too somehow.

NFL acutally used BJ about 6 years ago to promote the game and was one of the most successfull ever..
try and get some facts right rather then using the force which u are not that strong at😉

Not my cup of tea these days but they have a proven track record with music used by sporting codes and if it works, causes interest, gets free positive press for the greatest game I am all for it

I think my point was fairly straight forward i.e. There are a number of Australian groups/individuals who would be more influential across the target demographic, than Bon Jovi. There's no 'facts' that I've published that are incorrect. **Edited by Mods**

Only problem is we'd end up with something like that stupid "rugby, rugby, rugby league " song from the footy show.

I thought it was a boring song that lacked punch and a heartbeat. I'm guessing in time the song will grow on me but for the moment I feel that they could have come up with something a bit better.

I agree Chris, but I can't see this Lame song growing on me….. The NRL should just get advice from the master..Sir Bonstonker....the man is a genius.

The NRL can have that lame song as long as the Wests Tigers pick up this video and song as their theme song of 2011....

Now listen again to Bon Jovi's song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT8CULvY9Rc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and ask yourself what pumps you up more

I love that Wests Tigers Invincible, but, Bon Jovi it is. I can live with that, could've been worse!

Maybe we should employ these guys?

" the funky monkeis is comin!!!!"

Plenty of times I hear a song initially and dont like it, only to have it grow on me.
Ive only hears about 20 seconds of it….add some awesome RL footage and I think
we may be thinking differently on this in a few months time, definitely not the
woirst weve had imo.

LOL Keith Urban...jaysus! :brick:

I think its a pretty good choice for the situation rugby league finds itself in at the moment with the AFL looking to invade league heartland. It sure's up league support and with league footage, I think everyone will support it. Its no "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner. But at the very least, its better than the song Wes Carr did "Feels Like Woah".
