Australia's gun ownership has increased by 25% to more than 4 million since Port Arthur in 1996. That is one gun for every 7 Australians. The deceased owned 7 guns and was a member of a gun club. Guns are there for one purpose and the majority of gun owners live in Sydney and Melbourne. One license has 300 guns attached to it.

I don't judge people by their religion. I lived in an Islamic country for a few years and respect, tolerance and understanding goes a long way. The man who risked everything to save the lives of fellow Australians is a good example.
It doesn’t change what I said.
Plus there are already videos surfacing online of Imams and their followers praising the murders at Bondi and shouting’Free Palestine’.
Not a great look for the religion of peace.

The UN has 193 member nations. We are a member nation and the recent election overwhelmingly supported this current govt which strongly supports the UN, the Rome Statute, the ICC and the ICJ.

There are major problems in Islam. Not "judging by ones religion" doesn't work in Islam, because they see themselves as borderless. One people...Muslim first, second and third. The umma.

Please stop equating this statement with "all Muslims" which you seem so keen to twist things to in order to shut down criticism.

I'm happy to go deeply into the topic, particularly sharia law, jihadi organisations and customs and practices around child marriage and "consent" in certain parts of the world.

Places like UAE and Saudi, Malaysia are modern examples of what Muslims and Islam could be known for. The rest of the Muslim world needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

Many of these countries are less liberal and free than they were 70 years ago.

You don't need to virtue signal anymore...that phase is gone. No one cares.

The President of the United States this morning literally celebrated the murder of Rob Reiner

You're the one preaching, while I can only advise of my personal experience.

Why is port Arthur so important to you? That guy was mentally ill. He wasn't part of some global organisation radicalised by religious teachings.

Second, population of Australia in 1996 was 18 million. Today it's 27 million. That's a 50% increase from 1996. That's might explain your figures.

Yeah...not classy. He didn't like Rob Reiner that much is clear.

Little bit different to running out into the streets celebrating ALL AROUJD THE WORLD when Oct 7 happened.

Particularly loved the Imam on TV telling all his followers how elated he was. Religion of peace.

35 people died at Port Arthur. 7 during the Hoddle St incident. 16 at Bondi. It is important to me because Howard demonstrated courage and strength to reform gun laws which made a difference. 30 years later Albo and Minns need to demonstrate the same strength to restrict gun ownership and make a difference to prevent similar incidents from happening.

Let's hope the next terrorist doesn't simply ignore the gun laws.

But of course, you can ask Lee Rigbys family about the alternative methods that can be used to carry out an attack.
