Braith Anasta

The way Tigers supporters are bagging Braith Anasta is getting ridiculous he is now a part of our team you need to deal with it. He is capable of stuff and is a game breaker at times people have been bagging him on facebook and twitter also some on this forum.

"Anasta is to old should have stayed where he was."

These were comments on his picture

"Terrible"
"yuck."
"like a washed up forward in his early 30's who we cant expect miracles from.."
"our Tigers should have kept Beau.. as for Braithe.. i can't stand him RT: @Wests_Tigers: What do we all think of Braith Anasta in WT kit?"

Some people actually have brains like this person

"love it still a champion love him even more now.":

My point is he is a part of our team and we all need to at least not talk crap about him he has not even had a match with us yet and everyone hates him. Hopefullly he proves everyone wrong

True you watch Mick Potter will make him a good lock and he will be one of the best buys next season just give him a chance and he has a cheap contract anways.

No….not everyone HATES him.

Some dislike the reason he was brought here.....but he's here so lets give him a shot.

hes got brains , good kicking game , can pass , take presure off benj and robbie that will do me , he always was in the roosters sides that beat us to , so that may change a bit too

After what our mob served up last year, we need a player like Anasta that will turn up every week and have a dig

Never a fan when he was elsewhere but good luck to him now.
As a player I think he'll add a lot of calmness and control - something which has cost us many games and probably at least one premiership in the last few years. He's also a natural leader on field.
Considering we're looking at bringing through 2 very young halves in Miller and Sirro, as well as kids like Koriobete, Tedesco, Groat, Fotuika(sp), Woods (yes he is still very young) etc. his presence (preferably as a backrow bench rotation) will be very handy.

If he is played in the forwards my concern due to his age and lack of size he will struggle with injuries

If we wanted a second rower we should of got a second rower , not a 6 that was turned into a second rower

he's too smart to get injured. he's a stayer.

I always thought that he was an overrated player apart from 2010 when he was in career best form (bloody field goal) but he will take some pressure & responsibilities of Benji & Farah leaving them to play their natural game. he should also be a good influence on Sirro & Miller.

The el-cheapo deal he is on is worth it alone for his footy brain - reportedly 2 years, 400k (aka 200 per season) http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/anasta-to-partner-marshall-in-halves-at-wests-tigers/story-e6frfgbo-1226314924814

He'll turn out to be an astute buy methinks.

I think Braith will be the difference between winning games we would normally lose. Smart footballer with an outstanding kicking game and an astounding desire to win. I wish we had him before next season.

Seeing him in the tigers training gear I wasn't offended as I thought I may be.
if he plays lock or cover at 5/8th heaven forbid something happens to Benji then I think he will be a great buy.
An old wise head to help lead a young pack forward.
No pressure of being Captain or Playmaker, he can just go out there play his role, chime in when he wants to, offer support to the Halves and Farah where need be.. all positives really.

I don't think he's a bad purchase at all. Good work ethic, decent kicking game including an excellent spiral bomb, very good field goal exponent under pressure and a good passing game with good vision. The team has often lacked the ability to come up with a good settling play under pressure and I think Anasta's experience and temperament will help with this aspect.

I'd agree if he was in the halves ,but it appears he won't be

My other concern is that Fulton will be the player that misses out to fit Anasta in the back row and we can't afford to lose Fulton's defence and Fulton doesn't seem to play well off the bench

This is why I have been confused about his signing

Anasta is not a choker and we have a few !! enough said when the going gets tough this will be money well spent!
