Braith Anasta

he's a competitor though… and tough!

I still feel he will end up in the #13 once Tedesco gets back to speed in mid 2013 as we all know Moltzen will be in the team somewhere.

If our half backs don't work out this year he could end up with '7' on his back next year, would he interesting to see how he would fit in with Robbie and Benji as our half. It is more likely that Moltzen will be moved back to 7 making way for Tedesco at 1, just a thought, he will probably end up in the back row somewhere.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but if Sheens is good to his word , he has already said that he will play Anasta in the halves

Sheens also said that he would not experiment with Benji in the 7 again That he is a far better in the 6 jersey

If Sheens is true to his word Anasta will be in the 7 jersey

Would be the oldest & slowest 7 in the comp..I doubt he'll be there

Would make a great half for the tiggies next year - he is calm , experienced and great kicking Game and Good defence and running and passing game but he is mainly the kind of solid influence the tigers need with Robbie and bunji creating the magic

He was the slowest no 7 in the comp when he was tried there 6-7 yrs ago…at 31 next year he aint got any faster!
Like Sheens said about Moltzen playing at no 7 THIS yr,Anasata will last about 3 games before the bleeding obvious becomes transparent even to Sheens & Anasta resumes normal transmission in the forwards alongside Blair
Not sure thats a great like for like replacement for Ellis,as the one thing our pack needs is forward grunt/metre eaters...plus we still wont have a halfback
unless either Miller or Humble kick on as playmakers
Also not sure how forward looking we are-our hottest prospect is a young kid playing 5/8 who at 196 cms will inevitably end up as a ball playing forward,& weve just signed same same in Anasta...?

Watto This is where I am confused with his signing . The two main things we get with his signing are his experience and his kicking game

I personally think that at his age he is going to get too many niggly injuries to play in the forwards much like Lewis did when Bennett switched him to lock

I'm not overly sold on him playing at 7 either , but I'm trying to think how we get the best out of him with his strengths (Experience and kicking game ) without having him out injured for x amount of weeks because of what I said previously

He is a really risky signing in my opinion and its going to be a fine balancing act , but he is here now and its up to Sheens to work out where he is going to be an asset to the Tigers

Yes, I think we will see Anasta in the number 13 next season.

That's where he should be, but with the way Bell is going, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an extension.

I reckon Anasta will be value for us as long as he's not getting too much. I'll be disappointed if we don't sign anyone else decent, considering we're losing Ellis at least, probably more.

- Anasta has a decent attitude, always wants to win, we could use that
- Another kicking option but should play at 13 IMO
- Probably fill the gap until Curtis Sironen or another junior is ready

Phantom Siren was on the BSB this morning suggesting that Lote will retire at the years end.

that just sounds like an educated guess, but is probably on the money

Agree with you Winnipeg, 13 is where I think he will play and hopefully will instill the killer instinct into the side as the man never gives up.

Agree, although I'm liking the defensive workload Bell is getting through at the moment.

I'm telling ya , its a huge risk playing an ex No 6 at his age in the back row He is going to find it harder and harder to get ovet the niggly injuries We are wasting his 2 big strengths by playing him in the back row

I want Anasta in the position where he can over ride Benji and Farah and say "I want the ball now " It ain't that easy when you are playing in the back row with the increased workload

Bryan Flethcer just said on the footy show he's been talking to Braith and he will be in the backrow next year. Hmmm

heh damn you beat me too it Fraze  quick and the dead around here.

But yes, very interesting. That's where he should be, but Braith has certainly preferred to play in the halves at the Roosters. A few Roosters supporters around would have preferred he stay out of the halves.

What Fletch said, certainly suggests that Braith signed on with the knowledge he'd be in the backrow.
