What I want to see more of and what I really like about him is when he gets the ball and is able to wind up with what to me is his trade mark long arcing run and eventually getting up to top speed which is when he looks almost unstoppable.

Yeah same here I've become a fan for his efforts . Runs hard tackles hard and puts in at the small things we need done. If everyone else showed as much of go as him we'd be rollin'.
 
So fast and puts in so much effort from marker. His aggression makes him a better player but is good to give away one or two penalties a game. Needs to get a little smarter in terms of when to be aggressive and when to let it go for the team.

A shining light for this year though, probably our best in first three rounds.

A lot to like about him.... Has some real mongrel.

Also settled contract wise as well....

- I also look at it like he can't be any worse than Milone, Jennings, Fonua, Marsters, Hoeter, Rankin, Pauga, Cini, BJ, Roberts, Naiqama and plenty of others over the last decade....

What a list of reserve graders.
Grace Jones was alright for a couple of years.
 
I think Naden is probably somewhat maxed out as a player.

That said, he's very athletic & can produce some very good performances.

In the AD thread I suggested Doueihi is a long term centre opposite To'a.

I'd add that until Doueihi comes back, it's up to Naden to secure the opposite centre spot. The club is waiting on players to own these positions. Plenty of talented players thereabout. To'a is securing his role. Who wants the other one?

I believe Naden is talented enough to take it, if he wants it.

Earlier in the season, Naden was the first centre picked. I still think he walks into the top 13.

The good thing is the rest of the team has really started playing with discipline, and those stands should filter through. If they don’t, he won’t play.

Tell you now, Tristan Reilly is a good centre too, and his style of play suits the Tigers. There’s a reason why he’s been in the reserves for the last few weeks. Around better players he will be a real threat, they are just taking their time with him.

Sorry mate, I can't take to Reilly. He has talent for sure but most things I have seen of him in the past have been ordinary. Happy to be proven wrong but I don't think he will make the NRL.
 
I heard on the latest WT Podcast that Naden may have just had shoulder surgery in the past week. Why would it have taken so long when he's been out with the injury for what feels like 2 months?

If and a big IF because I don't know how true but if he misses the first part of pre-season training because of it ... very very poor management!
 

How Naden is driving Wests Tigers' revival​


Back in the Concord rehab room after three off-season operations, Brent Naden is hoping for better fortunes in 2024 after an injury and suspension-filled campaign.

But as the club and Naden desperately look towards a new year, it is clear the charismatic strike centre is still bringing the optimism and energy to the inner west.

“It was a pretty frustrating season. I only played eight games so it was a year full of injuries and a couple of suspensions in there too," Naden told NRL.com.

“For me personally, it hasn’t been lonely as much as it's been frustrating because I couldn't be out there with the boys and it's such a slow process.

“But I've tried to stay positive, I think the physios are sick of me already and it's only week two of pre-season.

“They've bounce me around between them...‘you take Nado, no you take him,' I give them a pretty hard time but it’s all for a laugh. I think they’ll be hoping to see me back out there more than anyone.'

“But I'm excited to put my best foot forward. Do all my rehab, train hard, do all the right things and come back for 2024. A bit like a fresh start I suppose."

I’m very excited to play under Benji, he's been in the game so recently so has a really fresh understanding of how it all works.

"He knows how to build a game, what it takes to win games and all that hard work and training that goes not that."

The bright spot for Wests Tigers fans in 2023 was the emergence of rising star Jahream Bula, who made his NRL debut just two weeks after Naden dislocated his shoulder and five-eighth Adam Doueihi tore his ACL on Easter Monday.

The 27-year-old Naden said the rookie fullback came as an important morale booster for the club and a player he's desperately excited to link up with on field in 2024 after connecting away from footy.

“He definitely lifted the spirits here last year. I just love what he brings to the team, he’s fast, fit, strong. He's a freak to be honest," Naden said.

“I call him my son,” he joked. “We just sort of clicked during preseason last year.”

“He’s only a couple of lockers down from me and we always have this running joke. He's a good basketball player and I always gee him up that I'm better than him and he bites every time. But I’m too scared to actually verse him.

“He’s one I'm most excited to play with. I only got to play one game with him last year and then I couldn’t get back on the field with him."

Played 8 games in 6 months, roughly about 100 mins (two lunch breaks for those working a job) of footy per month and he’s still in rehab. Right.
