Police have reportedly arrested a Brisbane Broncos Origin star on charges of alleged domestic violence.


Under Queensland laws, the player can not be named.

It is understood that NRL integrity unit is aware of the alleged matter and is investigating it.

It's understood Police were called to the players home on Sunday to speak to the player in relation to an alleged domestic violence matter.

Reports from multiple publications suggest the player was arrested, but not formally charged by police. He appeared briefly at Red Hill with teammates on Monday before departing.

The Broncos were told about the matter this morning and investigations will now continue.

No action has been taken at this stage by either the NRL or the Broncos.

The Brisbane Broncos will take on inner-state rivals the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday before facing the Cowboys, Eels, Dolphins, and Storm next month.

It is a must-win for the Broncos this weekend due to them sitting in 13th place on the NRL ladder and two wins behind the eight-placed Dolphins.

What happened to the report an origin star was reported (not arrested) a couple of months back. Same thing under Queensland law he can’t be named etc.

Can only report what I’m hearing up hear in Brisbane , just heard something happened on Sunday night and it’s DV. Related , no charges laid but he has been arrested , the other you mentioned I don’t know , could also be him from back them but I have nothing to say it was or mite be , zero on that

Yeah it’s funny, it hasn’t been mentioned again. And on that point hasn’t been mentioned in relation to this latest allegation. I don’t think it was DV, sexual assault I recall so can be unrelated. Could be related to a current origin player looking to head to Sydney to rekindle with an old coach. Who knows.

If you watched the Dogs/ Broncos game on Saturday you would have noticed that Cobbos heart wasn’t really in it. I thought it may have been reports about him having a falling out with Walters, but it seems we now know what was hanging over his head.
