Brooks & Moses on the way out..?

Moses has attracted offers from 7 clubs.
do you guys think he will stay or go?
i believe he will stay.

That's a load of crap that Moses has 7 offers on the table.

I am guessing Moses would have 1 club offering money. That's us. No other club would surely offer over $200k for him as his experience has shown. We would be paying an extra $400k for potential. Not many clubs are that dumb.

The Wests tigers need to put their foot down here. Brooks and Moses are not worth $600k a season. They are barely worth $600k for the two of them. We should never have given them an extension on their decision to activate 2017\. We should have said take it or leave it. If they left it then they can try somewhere else and quickly realise they are not worth that kind of money.

Brooks and Moses contract are a bigger problem than Robbie Farah's contract. 1.2 million dollars for the two of them? ARE YOU SERIOUS? At least Robbie is arguably the best hooker in the game and can literally be the difference between winning and losing.

Besides the Titans, Brooks and Moses are arguably the worst halves pairing for 2016 yet they command one of the highest combined salaries?

Did you see how well Brooks and Tedesco combined from rounds 1-9 in 2014, yes, that is because they were free to play as they pleased, playing what is infront of them is what they need to be doing, unfortunately that was prevented from happening last year.

When Tedesco and Brooks combined we were sitting in the top 4, Tedesco got injured and our season changed.

Them two plus Moses are the key, keep them we suceed…lose them, well we are back to box one.

NRL level halves player, $500k is a starting point.

Moses Mymbe ( spelling?) signed with the Dogs two half million for four years . . thats what you are looking at to secure up and coming halves.

Hodkinson went to the Knights for $700k by all reports.
The coin our guys are on is definitely inflated, but it would have been the market driving the price - think back to when they signed, and there was all sorts of interest from all around the league.

Where do I sign?

For the younger 'stars in the making' it will be as much about the past as the future.

Their whole playing career, they've been winners and they've been talked up.

Now they're stuck in the post-nuclear fallout that is the West Tigers 2015/2016, with little signs of success on the horizon, and suddenly the prospect all their dreams have vapourised, simply as a result of the choice of club they've made.

Any allegiances to the club will disappear with that. Full stop. This is their careers. Who could blame them.

Success breeds success. Sheens brought success. Potter brought the success of Dally Ms and started to make progress as a coach. But where is there experience with success now? Taylor's only ever been average at anything he's done. And the CEO etc are all cast offs.

So now these kids are the only ones who know success. Of course they'll call the shots. There's any number of clubs who'd take these guys without hesitation on big money.

And so the hyenas descend on the club's carcass.

All parties need to be locked away together until ALL issues are resolved well before Xmas or next year's done for and the young fellas are gone.

Well said "guyofthetiger" :righton:
These young guys and any of the team members for that matter want success in what they do, they want to win, and so do we "fans" want them to win games, so if we can start off the season well and finish the year somewhere near the top 8- winning more games than we lose, hopefully the young blokes will not entertain the idea of leaving, because it's true, they are the future for our club 😛ray:

Them jumping ship - if that's what is to take place, wouldn't be the end of the world. To be a star as a young bloke doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna be a star in the big time no matter how much you want it to be the case. Are they still going to be kids learning their trade this year? Will the excuses continue when they fail? Is it going to be the fault of the guy on the inside in defence that is blamed when they get run over? These two need to face reality. Either play to your "potential" or go grab one of those many better offers elsewhere if in fact they are there.

On a side note…As for Farah meeting with Di Girolamo, his choice of friends is pretty questionable at best isn't it? Wasn't he wrapped up in all sorts of controversy a year or two back along with the shady ex-Premier?

I want to agree with you milky but what you say about Moses and Brooks is all just speculation and potential rooted in hope. Nors is right. The fact is that they are arguably the worst halves pairing in the league. You can blame any factors you want but they are still very green and are completely unproven. If they left the club it wouldn't be the end of the world, because let's be honest, they struggle to even inspire the hope we are all clinging to. (Tedesco is a completely different matter. He is not on the way out and should therefore not feature in this discussion…. anyway, he is class and could make any half look good.)

guyofthetiger - spot on.

I agree with wd in perth. I'll take it further, if these guys don't kick major butt in the first half of next season then they should certainly be released and then we can lament all the years we have wasted investing in these two. 3 years is well more than enough time for this investment to start reaping rewards.

All good points bigsiro…..but surelt they wouldnt have punted Martin if there was any thoughts of these 2 not staying!

It seems the Club has lost control on this matter and the proof is there by allowing Moses and Brooks an extension till June to decide there Futures. But then what do they do? Like it or not the Boys Club continues as it appears that if any of these boys was to leave? the other might follow suit and you can add Tedesco in the mix as they all hang out in there spare time.

They are entering there 3rd year in 1st grade and for them to be getting that sort of money that is reported for 2017 is ludicrous, they would both have to play out of there skins to remotely justify that price tag.
Luke Brooks for every try he creates….gets 2 against us as his nothing but a turnstile in defence.

On the face of it, if Moses leaves us in the lurch after getting rid of Austin and Martin to give him the rails run at 5/8, that would reek of disloyalty.

I then remember that we are dealing with newspaper reports with no direct quotes, no substantiated fact, and no suggestion that the player himself has said any of this.

Best thing we can all do is stop believing the garbage that the newspapers are throwing around, and wait for either the club or the players to make a statement. Will make life much more enjoyable for everyone.

Better start making some team lists.

Dont think Milky has heard of Ryan Pap…. he will be ready as Teddys contract comes around again

Oh God , not more "potential".

Tedesco had potential. How did that work out?

Wise up.

So much potential" never gets any higher. Or , gets snaffled up as soon as they show actual talent.
We thrive on "potential" especially each time our admin wants to quietnen down the rumblings from another wasted season

I don't know whether they'll sign with us again, but where does the "disloyalty "bit come in. They owe loyalty to the club, for only as long as their contract is for. After that, the only thing to consider is their own futures. They have probably seen by now that for anyone to show loyalty to a football club is Wasting their time , as most clubs will dump a player whenever it's convenient for the club.
The minute a players contract runs out, he has to think of his own welfare, because the club sure as hell won't worry about it later.
Even though I think they are limited as halves, I hope they do as well as they can wherever they play.

EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in the first grade ranks and or on the cusp HAS potential.

the key is how to develop the players so they are able to continue to grow and get better.

1% of all athletes are truely gifted
the rest - whilst good enough to compete at the top level - require a good coaching team to further develop the "said" potential.

all sports are exactly the same.
this is why you will often read in post retirement comms players say - under so and so coach i really grew etc etc etc….

I can't see these 2 being anything too above average, mainly Brooks. If they were to move on and we had money for halves more proven, it would be win win. Story is still a load of crap though I think. Just a case of the media kicking a club when they are down. The media are pretty good at that.

this is true but …... the worlds have changed where now players / managers are worried well before their contracts end.
thats part in parcel of why the everyone in the game is becoming more and more disenchanted.
how can players act or believe the club has their best interest at heat when they openly show absolute disloyalty towards other players / team mates.
"if they could do that to him - they can do that to me"

and then - all best are off.

When it came to showing the door to the other 5/8s, you don't think the club would have explained to Mitch why they were being shown the door, and asked for his ongoing commitment as a result of the faith they showed him?

If Mitch didn't make a long-term commitment in the first place, they would not have let Austin or Martin go.

But that is all besides the point, because as I said, all we are relying on are baseless reports from the same newspaper that incorrectly reported that Robbie was offered a 4-year deal on the weekend.
