Brooks & Moses on the way out..?

@MacDougall said:
Honestly the only thing we need is for Brooks and Moses to improve imo. If they become the talents they are predicted to be we are a major, major force.

They're young and relatively inexperienced. They have to "learn" before they "improve". They will learn best by being taught by someone they respect and whose judgement they trust in all regards of leading them. I think that is not Jason Taylor, as simple as that.

There are probably a multitude of reasons Brooks and Moses have asked for the extension (TV deal, RF situation, Tigers position, JT's future etc).

The thing that Is really going to be nauseating if they go and others follow is the "rebuild for the future" phase we will have to endure.

We won't have 2 cents to rub together and there will be an amazing crop of juniors who we will invest in and we as supporters will be asked to be patient for the next 3-5 years.

Make no mistake, whether you're a JT or RF sympathiser, if they go, I can't see a plan B other than rebuild. Mediocre performances to be the norm. Supporters to suffer.

If they leave, the Board has only itself to blame for appointing a coach with such a problematic history. Clearly, to retrieve the situation the Board has to act decisively. Taylor is compromised and he has no way out.

The bottom line is these two kids will be in big demand, some might say it is based on reputation, others might say on potential and others might say ability, but they will have plenty of dollars waived in front of their noses. So I guess if a really strong club offers you big money you have to be tempted. Winning games is a lot more fun than loosing

They'll only be in big demand if they have a big year,
If they don't , then we are stuck with them on big money
And I wonder if Taylors comment about players only being selected on form, applies to them as well????

Not sure if this has been mentioned (the threads are long in the off season) but surely Brooks and Moses want to play together? If so, which clubs are in the position to pick up both? Let alone teddy

How do we know that that is a major consideration?
They may prefer to, but in the end , their manager would be trying to get the best deal for both of them. And if that's at two clubs, then that's probably what they'll probably go for.
They both Would be a lot better if they were both at a different club with a good experienced halves partner beside them.
Which is what should happen with Rookie halves anyway.

Why do you question this post, yet agree whole heartedly with the post above it when both are as speculative as each other? It couldn't have anything to do with your agenda could it, surely not?

Honestly if you aren't excited about next year you're nuts. If the players in the team can't sense the change and aren't excited for the new look Tigers then show them the door. I don't care who it is. There hasn't been a bigger influx of new talent in this side literally since inception.

I get the excitement part, but saying it's the biggest influx of talent is way ott. Not sure what your definition of talent is, whether it's quantity or quality, but I'll take the class of 04 over any other yr we've ever had and twice on Sunday.

Doesn't this show that our admin is still pathetic, the CEO should never of signed off on this. Why would you give an employee all the power and still expect them to tow the line. They should have been signed to a 200k contract for 3 yrs with a 100k incentive for making the finals. I personally would not care if we breached the salary cap and lost all our points as long as we start winning. Keeping te Marie Martin might have put the wind up these guys too but the club is doing everything for these 2 overpriced under achieving reserve graders. We never should have got rid of Austin.

"Admin is still pathetic".

Wow. The only one who is pathetic is you. You would rather us be fined and lose points by breaking the salary cap? That will do me.

I am guessing you are a "millennial"? Instant gratification is your go. Put your mind into gear before running off at the mouth.

If you look at the situation that the club will be in at the end of 2016, I think we will be in a position of strength when we negotiate player contracts. Nearly every player's contract will end at the finish of next season. By then we will have an increased salary cap, we shouldn't be paying players who are no longer with us and we can look at the 2016 performances of any player that we wish to sign, both inside and outside the club. From that point onward, there won't be any back ended contracts.

I think we are going have a very strong roster and a great future, so let's stop all the bickering and just get behind this team for 2016, confident that we are building something that will make the fans proud to follow the West Tigers.

Benny Ealias, aka the opinion no one asked for stepped up the fear mongering by saying Tedesco would follow if they both leave. Not that I believe it, but say it was true, why would we want any player whose only here because of his mates?

Kinda like that time Tedesco nearly followed Brooks and Moses to Canberra…

You need to have a good hard look at yourself if you're going to post garbage like this.

You are a champion mate, an absolute champion. Your the only person that's allowed to say anything I'm sorry I wrote anything. People like you are the reason that forums go to pieces it would be easy to ignore something you don't agree on but no you have to attack anyone that doesn't share your mental thoughts. What a winner, next time you get the feeling of posting negative things about people try putting your bottom lip over your head and try to swallow more people will appreciate your input.

Ahahaha….Pedro M, you saved me having to say it. Thank you.

Unfortunately magpiecol lives in the binary world of "right or wrong", "win or lose", "millenial or fossil". He just doesn't get that this forum is about opinion rather than fact and expects his opinions to go unchallenged. But, never fear, I won't let that happen and I hope others do the same.
