Who would rather have MILFORD or BROOKS?

Is there another choice?

NO

Give madden a go over either of those 2

Yes please

Brooks is good for his speed. He is the fastest Wests Tigers player. It's shame he doesn't very often effectively use his best assets of speed, tackling and kicking in general play.

Maybe we could put him on the wing?

When they first came into grade i thought Brooks was the structure and Moses was the flair.

However many years later now i see Moses playing structured football and Brooks only seeming to play well when we play side to side football.

Happy to admit i got that very wrong.

Not as wrong as those in charge of retention and recruitment however.

Time for all of us to move on.

See ya Luke, the hype was exciting while it lasted.

Whenever I watch Brookes play, it just seems like he is rushed on every play. If he has decided on a short pass, kick or taking on the line, he will not adjust that decision even if a different option opens up. You see guys like Pearce, DCE, Cleary and some others seem to have loads of time to adjust and change whatever play they elected at the time. Not sure if he is shot on confidence or doesn’t have that creative ability. I hate knocking him and always wish him to come good, but not sure how much longer the club can invest in him, or just bite the bullet and go a different way.

Just read the "7 million reasons why" article Hooper has written. Along with all the Brooks bashing on here, man I am so glad I'm not him right now. I can see that there are very valid reasons for thinking he's not the number 7 to take us to a premiership but I also look back on the last years at our club and for so many reasons he has been on a hiding to nothing. Probably get bagged for this, but I feel sorry for him right now as he has been one of the few to show a genuine love and loyalty for the Tigers through some pretty dark and crappy times.

I’m a Brooks fan and I concede that this year his form is down. Brooks is best when running but I think his running game is even better in broken play or 2nd phase play which we haven't had much of this year.

Our pack needs an experienced leader, our back line needs some pace, we a need a full back that follows the play and is there when we make a break. We also need an organising half partner not a flashy Benji.

So its not Lukes fault, its everyone elses?

Well said.Brooks is not playing well but he is not on his own there. Our lack of a decent pack has been haunting the club for years.

So am I & agree he is down on form. But we’ve had plenty of chances to create 2nd phase play this year, however there is never anyone in support to back up the ball runner. Brooks has had the opportunity to play this role but rarely does it. Imagine Brooks supporting Grant in one of his scurries through the middle, that combination would be lethal.

Not at all. His form is down and it shows what’s lacking in his game.

He alone is not the problem though is what I’m saying. I doubt there are many halves in today’s game that would take this team to a finals.

Look at the team stats from the Penrith game and tell me for if you think we win if Cleary was our half?

Maybe ask yourself where the Panthers would be right now with Brooks as their half.

Of course we win more games if Cleary was our half. Thats the damn point.

Halves determine the teams fortunes.

Been that way since Dally Messenger.

Who knows however, with the squad they have they would still be pretty close to the top of the ladder with Brooks at half.

I also agree that this year we would possibly have won more games with Cleary at half mostly because of his goal kicking. But no one is saying that Brooks is better than Cleary.

Imagine how good our side would have been with both Cleary and Brooks but until we complete the rest of the squad, we still wouldn’t win a premiership with them two alone.

Yes we would make the 8.

Halves win the close ones. Thats all i have to say.

Good luck with your Luke Brooks thing.

To me he is done.

Much of the discussion in this thread has been around "What has gone wrong with Brooks?" or "What has changed?". Listen to the sports radio on the way home I was amazed to hear that Benji was second lst week and is now 4th in the comp for try assists. That seems incredible to me as he hasnt looked that dominant and as a team we have not been that dominant based on our W/L.

Is it possible that Benji has just taken the whip hand and that is why Brooks has dropped off?

What, another player is dominating so Brooks is failing. Absolutely rubbish, that has been the excuse for Brooks failings from day 1. First it was Moses, then Farah, then Reynolds, then Benji. The common denominator in all this is Brooks. Bye bye Brooks, hope you can achieve success somewhere else because here everyone around you here is dominant and your a mouse.

Mike, take a breath. I asked a question.

As I said in my post, a lot of the discussion here has been "What has changed?" he was Dally M hald 2 seasons ago. I was merely speculating on something that could have changed.

Your opinion is as valid. YOu may be right.

Was it an excuse or a question for discussion?

There are intangibles players have or don’t have and when the blow torch is applied some react and know they have a huge long term contract and know we will subsidise a release to another club. All of a sudden a better club gets the player on a subsidised deal and performs again.

Welcome to Moses part 2.
