Channel nine just reports that Cameron Smith anoints DCE as Australia's next Rugby league Captain. Wasn't aware that the Australian Captains job was to pick the next Captain. Also DCE isn't even sure of Captaining Qld, or even making this years run on side

Pretty sure what they're getting at happy - Is the bloke Smith has recommended is yet to captain a club, And not even a mainstay in the team….
And the way he's going - will be lucky to be!!

I'd have thought GI would be a shoe in?
Cronk, Slater and JT will all finish up at the same time as Smith.
GI would be my pick, He's a great player and a good captain at Souths.
He has a few more years left in him than the other big 4.
At the end of GI's tenure, Who knows....

Well if they go with GI as the next Aussie captain I just hope the next one appointed after him has some semblance of dignity, honesty and class about him. Sick of seeing cheats,drug cheats,wife beaters and other general lowlife scum being rewarded with the plum jobs in the plum teams.

Batboy I totally agree , GI has taken it to another level since being made captain in regards to his attitude and responsibility He'd be my pick , Smith doesn't agree .

I think most people would listen to Cameron Smith before me BB right or wrong

Gi is an exceptional player but this doesn't necessarily make him a capt. Souths have really struggled since he took over. He doesn't strike me as articulate and is not well spoken. Before someone jumps the gun I'm not being racist because I think thaiday/hodges/Thurston all come across very well.

Not at all mate… What the OP was insinuating is he thinks Smith is a grub and shouldn't be entitled to an opinion on the captaincy of our nation.

He is delusional, but thats common down there, especially with those Black & Gold goggles on.

Gi is obviously the C in waiting in my eyes too... The biggest debate will be whether the Australian Captain is a Queenslander, or a NSW Sooky La La?!

'When' is a while off judging by Game 3 last year… But its undeniable that NSW have never produced a Spine like that.
