Can't believe our odds for Friday

I am absolutely astounded by the odds for Friday night, Tigers are $3.35 to beat the Rabbits and Rabbits are paying $1.30 to beat us, that is a total lack of respect I reckon, they are missing Inglis, Teo, Mcqueen, Walker while the Tigers missing Farah and Woods.
We have beaten them already I know we miss Farah a lot when he doesn't play but $3.35 is insulting, put those odd's on the dressing sheds before we run out.
I'll definitely be putting some money on those odds

I really dont get the long odds = lack of respect angle (well I do, its a hook)

Bookies set them, weight of money determines the fluctuations.

I understand how it all works I'm a punter.
Those odd's are basically saying we have sweet F all chance of winning.
Well if bookies did think we were a chance they definitely wouldn't be paying $3.35

If they are offering $3.50 head to head I would think what they offer on line (start) betting would be good value.
 
I got on at 3.70 last time we played them..our odds have been good this year…was happy with the 2 dollars last week too.

Stop complaining and have a dash...
 
i like being written off. If we lose its expected, but if we win its a shock and we're seen as competition.

I'm not complaining mate, just think we are better than $3.35, as a punter my mouth was salivating
 
Yeah and I think our form minus Farah & Woods (we cannot score points) have been taken into account when framing the market

I just dont get the respect or lack of bit…its punting....each to their own
 
I have a healthy Centrebet account thanks to the tigers this year,

We payed 2 dollars against Cronulla and the Knights, and Parra….and over 3 bucks against Souffs and The GC earlier in the year.

We keep getting understimated and I get more money to lose later in the year...everyone is happy.
 
I think about 2.75 is right…...Souffs are faves and rightly so.

Without Robbie and Woodsy we are so so.

Re the undermanned Broncs game.
 
I got on Tigers last Friday at $4.00, putting on my bets for last week I thought it was a good offer a week out. I always knew both sides would be down on troops, plus thought Souths might cop some physical abuse from Warriors.

I had them at $4.25 in the Round 3 win, best bet all year.

i get why tigers should feel offended tbh. we're in the 8, we're playing good footy. talented youngsters with a few old heads. respect is not asked for, it's earned.. for some reason even though we are playing good footy, we're playing within the rules- i dont feel like we've earnt the respect of the opposition.

hope this changes soon.
 
There is a guy who has $1000 on the longest price head to head option each round and apparently he beats the TAB every year.

taken from when i used to bet on the NFL, a rule i used was if a side is offered a 10.5 start or greater they usually cover it.

or put more simply, teams with long odds usually do better than expected (maybe not wining it but still).

Interesting. That's kind of what I do, on a much smaller scale.

Each week I put at least one $10 bet on the best value head-to-head odds of the round, over $2.00\. I don't think there is much point betting on odds below $2.00, unless you have a strong opinion about a game, because the margin is so small.

I started doing this because I got sick of picking good upsets during footy tipping and not having anything riding on it. Even in a bad year I tip at around 65%, so I should have an overall advantage against random results.

I started with seed $50 and am currently up to $120, with two bets pending (Tigers over Souths @ $4.00 and Tigers to make the 8 @ $3.25). It's not huge amounts of money, but it's fun and I have more than doubled my stake so far.

I get a little less than half my bets wrong, but because I stick to > $2.00, every win more than doubles my outlay and covers the losses.

And when Tigers win more than they lose, I tend to do the same!
 
I suppose since, in recent weeks, we could only beat the last placed team by 2 and the second last placed team by 3 points, with a full strength side, than those odds would probably be about right - especially with how crucial Farah and Woods are to the side.

That said, the bookies have not taken into account the fact that this team, consistently, tends to play a whole lot better against the top sides, often coming away with a win or near win, whilst it still struggles to beat the weaker sides. It's an annoying trait, especially for us fans, who I'm sure would love to see our side rack up a decent F/A when playing the teams we should be smashing, but unfortunately it rarely works out that way.
