CEO Message re; Coach

So he put out an email to members saying "We want our members and corporate partners to be the first to know the news, and the news is we aren't going to comment."

But then reading between the lines, my understanding is that Potter is a dead man walking.
It's a shame, I like him and it's only through injury that hacks like Keith Lulia are in first grade.
I would give him another 2 years to show us what he's got.

Potter signed Lulia and Halatau, Halatau shouldn't be in our team at full strength and he isn't here to play reggies. Potter also re-signed Luani. Week in week out we have terrible players going out and playing, never have they got dropped, the only time a player was dropped is when Benji got dropped to the bench & that was because he breeched a club rule, this was not made public.

Ah Milky..didn't also Farah, Woods, Tedesco eventually Nofoaluma, Moses, Brooks, Cherrington. Tapaua, Gavet, Sironen et al also re-sign durin Potters reign…

Why would Mayer even make a statement , this statement is ridiculous all this has done is destroyed the good work the club has done over the season . Mayer is a total goose ,and I might say my thoughts about the man have certainly changed I expect a CEO to be a leader not a social media drongo !

Look the many areas are just that

The players weren't happy with how negotiations went with certain players Farah said this about the Tedesco fiasco

No one is happy with our financial situation and lack of TPA's to keep players

The three ground fiasco upsets many

The Wests v Balmain saga that never disappears

The constant rumours about Potter and his future

This is many issues , doesn't just include Potter includes the club as a whole

Everything i read in this article sounds like Potter could be in trouble - Unless he can turn this around and get us in finals it could be all over red rover ..
Next …...

Considering the coach has had the team in the 8 since the start of the season , it seems a bit rich that he could be punted this way , things haVe not been great over the past month or so but from a personal perspective there has been plenty to cheer about this season.

How many players ever get dropped these days at any club? The way the talent is spread now no club can bring up reserve graders every week because they don't have the depth. They play out the season and get moved on.

Lulia and Halatau were only ever depth signings

I suppose you dont want to credit him for any of the good signings we have made?

If I were Robbie Farah I would be ripping new bum holes for a few 'unnamed' players. loose lips sink ships.

I agree completely. It's fine to have a policy of getting info to members and sponsors, but that shouldn't include posting something that can be divisive and subversive like this. I think it casts Mayer's judgement in a bad light, not Potter's. Moreover, I get that feeling again, as others have alluded to, that the players carry a lot of sway at this joint. Trouble is, I think, they don't all see the world the same way. They're not in agreement on the merit of Potter. If they were he would be signed by now or gone by now. And, if true, I seriously question the intellect, motivation and alliances of those who might be making life difficult for Potter. Troubled times ahead I think. I hope I'm reading too much into this.

Snake, i think the issue we have had this season so far is consistency.
Yes we have been in the 8 but we have been a bit hit and miss. Our for and against is a great example of how poor we have been. The inability to put points on and hanging by a thread.
Potters job aint safe till we can string some wins together..

yes we have been around the 8 but every time we have played a team to advance up the ladder EG; souths broncos, Penrith, titans we have falling well short of the mark, does this reflect on the coach, this is the question.

Grant Mayer "Look at me, look at me, the man of the people"

What a load of spin and rubbish. Mayer might have done some good things, however we seems to want to draw attention to himself all the time, a poor attribute to have in his role.

Ok he has done some really good work in terms of rebuilding the club and tying up some players however he seems overly keen to inflate his own tyres with meaningless, spin statements like this.

Getting rid of Potter would be brain dead in my opinion. Unless they have A Hasler, Bellemy etc wrapped up (they dont) it is a bone headed move. If they give it to a rookie like Payten or Kidwell we will go backwards next year in my opinion. Potter deserves a 3rd year to try and show the fruit of his labour (common sense) I have not agreed with many of his moves however he has been working in tough circumstances from day 1.

Any chance the same players that didn't like sheens are the same players that don't like potter?

According to reports Manly are in turmoil, yet their players give 100% week after week.

We need to stop wrapping things up in cotton wool and get rid of the non performing players once and for all! Do what Penrith did!

We brought Sheens in because we needed some discipline in the club after the Lamb/Langmack era. Maybe Potter has been seen by club management as an interim coach and already have someone else in mind.

You give them far too much credit. They are still paying our last coach and you think they have a plan for the next one? Yeah right…
