Reading some of the comments on here, it is obvious that there is a complete ignorance of the corporate structure of the Wests Tigers. Negative comments such as the dumb ass who stated above "He reports to the same board now that were responsible for the failure of the Wests magpies and their expulsion from the NRL." is pure fiction. None of the 1999 Board at Wests are still involved with the Club. Check out Wests financial performance and they are doing very well. So whoever 'Harvey' is, HOW ABOUT GETTING THE FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU START DRIBBLING HERE. By the way, im a Balmain person, not Wests.

Can you post or link the something to back up that statement? Not having a go but genuinely interested. I did a bit a look over the 2020 reports and it’s not great like everyone makes out. In fact some areas ( game day revenue , merch) has done down. From memory, there have only been two years in his tenure that the club was in (barely) the black.

I honestly think the guy is a myth but very happy to be proven wrong.

Less revenue over the last few years wouldn't be because of Covid - would it?

Let’s all keep making excuses then

So covid is an excuse? Not being able to have people attend games is making excuses.

There’s still 12 or 13 clubs managing better than us.

Not financially there isn't.

Couldn’t care less. The club is in existence to win NRL games and they can’t do it. End of story.

Then stop arguing finances.

Winning games will fix everything (including finances).

Thanks for that obvious observation, I agree with that. I responded to your post that was wrong about the finances of the club.

Can they start putting a finances ladder in the paper?

Mate, you claimed there were 12 or 13 clubs doing better than us financially, when told you were wrong you moved the argument that the finances don't matter if we aren't doing well on the field. Why raise it in the 1st place then?

You just wanted to have another swing at the club, there is no need to make rubbish up when there are plenty of things to bag the club over. When you just make rubbish up it makes your valid point less likely to be listened to.

Re-read my comment, it was in regards to managing the impacts of Covid, not finances.

As I have said, I couldn’t care less about finances or any other key indicator you want to judge the club on , we need to win.

I know you have mates at the club so we best just leave it there, as we aren’t going to arrive anywhere.

The whole discussion was about finances, I'm happy to let this go as I agree there is not a lot of point to being financially stable if we can't win games.

And I got involved when Covid was mentioned as an excuse for declining revenue. I’m just sick of excuses and accepting less.

Mate, my company loss 95% of revenue during this lockdown. I will not let anyone say that covid is making an excuse for declining revenue, including for sporting organisations.

Sure, Covid is an excuse for declining revenue, no doubt. Covid has wrecked a lot of things.

But we were a bad footy club in late 2019 and nothings changed.

There was a time once when a CEO could run his or her company into the ground and survive-they were virtually bulletproof. That hasn't been the case for a number of years. Whilst we are a lot better off financially than we were and getting the COE was a significant achievement, we seem to be perceived as a basket case and career killer by many of the players we need to recruit to improve our roster. Hopefully Sheens arrival will precipitate a serious review of all parts of the organisation including the club's senior management.

I did not mention Covid as an excuse (as stated before) - a poster is still getting excuse and reason as the same thing.

To clarify:

Excuse: "Seek to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offence); try to justify."

Reason: "A cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event."

Not the same thing.

And the rest of the squad?

Common denominator of not playing finals in how long (Pascoe and brooks).

And you think changing those two and not the majority of the squad will make the difference? You do realise Pascoe has very little todo with football operations, that’s not his job.

If I’m CEO of Granny Smith Apples and all the apples have worms in them it’s my problem.

It’s not a small business where the owner or CEO does everything. Football/sporting clubs are particularly unique in that there is a commercial side and the football/sporting side. While there may be one overarching umbrella each area would have their own specific responsibilities.

But that’s the only argument sycophants bring up to defend Pascoe.

Well pretty sure it’s not the players who got the club into a solid financial state.
If anything they made it harder through crap performances. Not sure how people questioning Pascoe not being sacked is a sycophant either.

thats a massive cop out. teh commercial side is there to ensure the success of the club (wins). the balance sheet means nothing if we dont win. Whats the point of a profit, if you go backwards, it only means you are focussed on the wrong goals.

Why? I just don't see the issues that a few here make of multiple home grounds? We are a JV club. Have the players mentioned it? They would simply hop on the bus and go play where they are told?
Our main problem IMO, is that some of the players we have, just aren't up to standard, changing them quickly can't happen due to contracts.

The Weststigers are no longer a joint venture they are owned by one entity … they should be playing out of one entity not 6 .
The sooner these facts sink in the better the club will be ,
The word WAS should be pencilled in before Joint venture .

Not a cop out at all. It’s how clubs are organised. If you want to lay blame at the top level you are looking at the wrong position. You need to look at the Board, they are the Wests Tigers, everyone else are just employees of the Board.

You know what I mean, the club was born from two clubs and it is still managed by both clubs, which makes it a JV. Agree more Magpies then Balmain, but will hopefully change, with the Rozelle site coming on?
Don't try and erase history to suit a silly argument.
Can you name one player who is quoted as saying they have problems with multiple home grounds?
