A good mate of mine is strongly against Muslims here but loves his Muslim Pakistani doctor as the only doctor who really cares about his health.

My bro uses derogatory terms re some Asians (learnt from low class media) then goes crazy over female of same type??

Do you consider these two people as being racist?

Lucky that you live in Byron Bay, if you were living in Perth you are so far left you would fall in ocean.

I was expecting you to say I would end up in the Soviet Union. Maybe Sydney and Byron are the only two places in Oz that I like to live.

I am still trying to work out if you are a communist, socialist or somewhere in between???

He is that far left he makes Stalin look like Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon.

Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon isn't a true conservative, I'd be saying Reagan or Bush Snr.

Waleed lends his unique perspective to events and he is able to articulate that perspective intelligently and in a reasoned manner - in my opinion. I see Australia as an incredibly rascist country - possibly no more or less than many other countries - I can't really comment on that because I haven't lived for long in other countries. I often catch myself pigeon-holing all Muslims together under the banner of terrorist scums that have no place here in this country. This is ridiculous of course. Bad people are bad people and good people are good people regardless of where they are from and what they belieive. Anyway - that's my view from my perspective.

LOL unique perspective? You can almost predict word for word what his "opinion" is on any given topic. Not one ounce of it is original thought. Not one skerrick was derived through life experience. It is 100% SJW propaganda straight from his US masters.

You describe yourself as racist and so by extension is this country and the whole world at large? What a brainwashed stance to take.

Everyone's perspective is unique, Stryker - because we have all had different experiences, different education, different environments. And it is my perspective that this is a racist country. That is not to say everyone in it is racist - not even the majority of people in it. None the less, I think there is a substantial percentage of Australians who are. You are welcome to disagree.
By the way, I don't view myself as racist either (others might) - yes I have had racist thoughts, (just as I have had 'murderous' thoughts - but I'm no murderer). I would be as happy living next door to a 'good' person of any colour or creed. My best friend of over 50 years is of an ethnic extraction. And to suggest I view the entire world at large to be racist is a ridiculous comment for you to make based on my earlier remarks.

I can only go off what you stated and that was that 'Australia was an INCREDIBLY racist country…possibly no more or less than other countries'. If you describe this joint that way and then state that its no worse than anywhere else than reason stands that you feel most countries are INCREDIBLY racist. I think the ridiculous statement in our exchange is you saying that a country is racist. That is fundamentally wrong. Sure theres plenty of residents within it that are, of every ethnicity mind you, but as a country we are not racist. We help everyone who asks for aid. When was the last time you saw a humanitarian disaster and Australia refused to help because we don't like the darkies?

From what I have seen of Waleed has only been on ABC or SBS. The first step to understanding each other is hearing their point of view - I believe that he states that in an intelligent manner. I remember he wrote an excellent article in the SMH on the topic.

If DT readers hate him that is a pretty good reference that he may be a decent guy. The DT only provides simplistic opinions whereas human life, values etc. are a very complicated affair.

I never think about it. When in the environmental movement in mid seventies the socialist came in trying to take over the joint. The Aussie commos under Jack Mundy were genuine green-inclined.

Capitalism (private at least) crumbles under an decreasing economy, due to earth's finite resources including air production must eventually decrease and the system collapse so chaos or evolution into ???

Communism and socialism have been usually being brought in under extreme circumstances and under external and internal threats so is hard to objectively their long term longevity. But their possession of socially just morals and if democratically applied they could provide universally long term survival, peace and sustainability.

As the chance of achieving either of these in Oz in the short term is impossible I don't even consider. If we don't control human population worldwide and consumerism there will always massive misery, wars, environmental degradation and exploitation.

The only possible solution that can be introduced in the long term could be democratic socialism but only after another few generations of great upheaval. There are only about 50,000 books on it so I keep quiet.

In the full post that you extracted from I provided the answer via that Kinks song Lola - when people themselves are confused how can I categories them. when I lived in Deep North my footie mate used to bash up the Lola type - that guy could have his own demons as well.

I used to enjoy very much the movies that channel ten would show some mornings from about 8.30am.
The one that I remember most was " The creature from the Black Lagoon", now I have a copy of it…

I am close to someone high in media industry and was told decades ago that there is not sufficient quality programs to sustain 3 commercial channels. That was before internet days so now situation is hopeless.

There's enough quality programming out there to target a range of demographics across 3 stations but they all seem to have chosen the 4/5 nights of reality TV route which leaves little differentiation and doesn't spread out viewers they are just competing for the same audience

There is now all those digital channels as well so what hope is there. When I had manually-tuned TV I never bothered to tune in Ch 10\. I am just glad those brilliant children of billionaires have lost millions out of it. snared three of them I think. They are hopeless.

I wonder how many people who NEVER watch free to air tv were watching Origin last night?

Well there is no other option….I believe most have said apart from LIVE sport not available on other mediums they never watch free to air....9's Thirsday Friday and Sunday NRL ratings are down dramatically this season....Also the Finals series ratings on 9 were also down last season once Fox had simulcast rights...

I watched it on replay, mainly so that I don't have to put up with all the peripheral crap and spend quality time with the young fella for the opening minutes.

I don't watch 7, 9 or 10, but enjoy a bit of Aunty and SBS occasionally. To balance out leaning further to the left, I catch a little concentrated far right conservatism with Bolt on Sky. Just a few moments of his echo chamber program is enough.

I have been to parties where everybody (usually the youngsters) are chatting to everyone not at the party, there is zero communication for long periods. I have been to church weddings overseas where everybody is on their phones not taking any notice of proceedings, again youngsters.

Idiotize might be more accurate than educate.
