CHEAP FORWARDS!!!!!

the season has now started, we will not get a class front rower who is under contract.Think about why would another club release a top line front rower to us??More likely to be a player who is surplus to requirements and that means a plodder.

Unless out of the blue we snare a seasoned 1st grade prop I would continue with what we have in our own ranks. I have faith in Potters ability to instill a bit of passion into our forwards

chase a prop or play with what we have , our young guys may shock a few on here , Buchanan has gone very well and was a little unexpected , potter will bleed this lot of young guys into top linners , who knows we may just get away with it , i would have our young guys over Rose anyday

Hey can any of the mods tell me where my post suggesting Kane Evans from earlier in the week went? No dramas or anything (Tigerlily looks to have had the same thoughts anyway) but just wondering were it's gone. Posts have been disappearing regularly using Roarfeed?

On topic though a few other good pick-ups for a prop bench role (no idea about availability) could be a guy like Learoyd-Lars, Matulino, Lillyman, Dodds, Ashton Sims or Crabtree from England.

Just a complete nut bag who wants to rip in and make some metres. Kite would be good but probably too expensive and looking for a retirement package.

Guys,

What about John (Sione) Kite playing NSW Cup for the Bulldogs and previously Melbourne Storm?
He was in the Toyota Cup Team Of The Year in 2008.

My concern is not about our depth props with groat back in rd 7 , Ava , Buchanan, bell, etc. My big concern with Keith's injured is what happens if something happens to woodsy or even if he plays origin. Given that I think experienced props are the key - either George rose or shack or both

Blood internally 1st, if doesn't pan out, then look around. We don't want hasbeens, we want somone who is keen to make it big. Yeah Cashmere and Skandalis were really stop gap players. Did the job and thats it. We need to be smarter about this. A few good names have been thrown around on this subject. Don't froget hopefully by round 7 James Gavet and Groat will be back, pending getting game time.

I would like to see them sign a young prop by the name of Kane Evans from the Roosters he has alot of potential from what I have heard, I cannot see him getting a go at the Roosters for a long time (alot of guys before him) he is also a Leichardt Wanders boy his a up and coming player of the future at a bargain price rather than some fringe front row forward who has past his used by date.

I think they (the Cocks,) just resigned him last season TL.

on very good coin. ..

he is massively in their plans we are roughly the same chance of getting slater and cronk in a package deal

I would love to see Shannon Boyd from the Raiders 6ft 4 and 123kg. This is what we need and he is playing reggies so he gets a first grade spot straight up and he can bend the line.

George Rose would be good also to add some size as Fulton,Anasta and Blair don't break the line and work hard in defence but don't hurt the runners

Go tigers

Boyd was my pick of the props from NYC crop in 2012 . He will get his chance at the Raiders this season ,especially after their start to the season They have made us look like the Storm

Boyd is a very strong ball carrier I reckon he moves to slow laterally.
There were 6 stand out props last year from nyc, boyd is the only one who we have any chance of getting. Klemmer, Evans and molo are not going anywhere and we have Buchanan the remaining stand out is mosese .

What about Joel Clinton, hard runner, plenty of experience, currently playing for the Mackay Cutters In QLD Cup? Could be a handy pick-up !

I have it on good authority that the club will be signing a well known front rower in the next few days. Stay tuned!

ok its been a couple of days, yet no news is it still going to happen or is it just smoke in the sky.

Oh I get it, Robbie Farah is the well known front rower who was to, and has now, signed. Is that correct?

:brick: The last thing we need to do is go and waste what seems to be our little remaining available cap space on an old "experienced" prop who is going to provide nothing to the team. While experience can be valuable its useless if the experienced player isn't going to make any impact as the case seems to be with the tigers previous mid year panic buys. Good to see Mick blooding young Ava who has been impressive and has earned his call up, give the kids a go they need chance to prove themselves if that fails miserably then look around but as much as experience can be invaluable so can the exuberance of youth

Agree totally. I thought Cashmere was mostly ineffective when Sheens tried this last year.

Would much rather get a young bloke that is quicker on his feet.
