CHEAP FORWARDS!!!!!

:brick: The last thing we need to do is go and waste what seems to be our little remaining available cap space on an old "experienced" prop who is going to provide nothing to the team. While experience can be valuable its useless if the experienced player isn't going to make any impact as the case seems to be with the tigers previous mid year panic buys. Good to see Mick blooding young Ava who has been impressive and has earned his call up, give the kids a go they need chance to prove themselves if that fails miserably then look around but as much as experience can be invaluable so can the exuberance of youth

the dogs and rabbits dont seem to have any limit to there salray cap by the way the just keep signing people. yet we cant even by weights for koro to lift, what the hell is going on.

The cap is one thing, but where are these cheap props??and who is going to release them??Also what player manager worth his salt i s going to say to his client, "The Tigers are four props down I think we can up the bottom line by plenty". The old story of Demand and supply

Remember George Orwell's Animal Farm, "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."
Here lies your answer. To add to this if Manly had Stephen Dank for 5 years prior to the Sharkies, you do not have to be Einstein to work out where the problem started! But as always with Manly the club has done no wrong because; "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."

When does Schubert check what each of these clubs have spent? It seems to like like it is usually at least 2 years after the excess spending has been made. As has happened in the past a club which had illegally spent over the cap would by then have won a premiership using their ill gotton gains.

Anyway does anyone know whether Wests Tigers have any money left under the cap to buy a cheap forward? If so how cheap would this forward need to be? Would there be enough to buy someone like Shane Schackleton who last week was a reserve for State Cup?

Of course we are also forgetting one thing, their is a great possibility that a few clubs may need more players in a few weeks, the point if I was being targeted by the Tigers, I would either use that as a lever or hang out for more cash at one of the desperate clubs. The NRL will be bank rolling these clubs so I would imagine their will salary cap concessions and some silly money floating around like in the super war days.

Morale to the story, unless we get really lucky and some quality lobs on our door step at a fair price, than we close the door and try and make the most of what we have

The Mitch that played NYC for us a few years ago and went to the Cowboys and then to England was really showing some promising signs in the last few games he played in The NRL

Mental blank on his surname

Achurch? Went from Cowboys back to Wests State Cup and then the Panthers signed him up IIRC?

He did, but went from Panthers back to Super League this year.

That's the one ,pretty sure he is playing for Hull if memory serves now

Might be chance of picking him up , he had bulked up considerably (106kg ??)and had good go forward when I saw him play

Achurch is playing for Leeds but they sent him down to Championship to play with Hunslet on loan.
Has done nothing for me when I have seen him play over here. He got smashed against Melbourne and was only used for about 20 min.
I would of tried to get Cory Patterson who is playing for Hull KR after he left Nrth QLD Cowboys. He is killing it for Hull KR.
There is also a young guy over here playing for Warrington named Chris Hill who is huge and has a very good motor on him or even Ben Westwood who would add a bit more size and mongrel to the pack (I do think he is nearer to 30 so maybe not). I would try and get him for next season but we would not have a hope in hell in getting him for this season.
There is not alot of decent props out there on the market that we could make a play for on the cheap.
The team will just need to play tough, improve their defense game on game and work to Potters game plan. Good things come when you work hard for them.
