Unfashionable as it may be,the fullback's defence is abysmal and hed be the first one Id drop tbh.Hes just not physical enough for NRL
Mbye doesnt wanna be there...need to set him free asap.
Talua isnt a NRL standard anything
and btw..Kenny is disappointingly slow
Backs are a mess

Yeh, gotta say I'm not sure about Laurie long term

Its the SHORT term Im more concerned about..he needs to go to Nathan Clearys "nutritionist"and put on 8 kgs!!
...

I think Chin Chin's "nutritionist" works at my gym. Incredible transformations in body size and shape can happen. All legally and nutritionally, of course.

What's with the acne though ?
?

Realistically we can change our team but it won't change much for this year, needs to be built towards the future.

Bench Tamou and Ofahengaue, start Seyfarth and Stefano, bring Tuki Simpkins in for Amone, Simpkin on the bench to give Liddle a rest, bring in Tuilagi and drop Talau either for Doueihi or someone else.

Also make Doueihi captain, he's the only bloke who cares and talks a lot on the field. Brooks is too quiet and Tamou is playing less and less minutes

"Sack Maguire and hire Flanagan tomorrow. I don’t care if he’s a ratbag. The only rule for Flanagan would be he’s not to break any NRL rules re salary cap, drugs etc;"

In a heartbeat. When all else fails, go for the disruptor. He clearly has the ability to create a formidable side.

Yep this needs to be done.

The simple fact is that the coach is not enforcing the bounderies in this side. He needs to grow a pair. Dezi, Bellyache, Robinson, etc would have dropped at least 4 of these players weeks ago, now a low standard has become infectious, and morale is rock bottom. I can't see a way out of this.

I really don't want to bag Brooks too much because he cops it bad. However, it really sucks he isn't leadership/captain material. Ennis brought up a good point in that Tamau is our captain and sitting on the bench for at least half the game, which hurts when we are against the ropes. Brooks and Liddle are both out there for 80 but aren't captain material. We need our captain out there for the whole game atm, but there's no logical choice other than Douehi, but he's still a couple of years off being that true leader. We need a strong leadership group which we don't have and thats a huge disadvantage in today's game.

He looked fired up in those post game talks too....

Staring at the ground, falling asleep.

He may have tried his best, but is his best good enough?
I'd say no.

He's had his chance and he, like Madge.. has shown that they haven't got it.

If I was Maguire, I would have a massive sword in the dressing room and call it Frostmourne. Upon someone playing lame, I would be grabbing the sword, looking at them and saying “Frostmourne hungers”!

That will whip them in to shape.

Can't play AD at 6 cos he is a competitor and it throws Brooks off.
We move AD to centre to allow Brooks more control...

How long are we going to baby this kid?
Hastings said he's a fan of Douihei.

Two power player halves that won't be rattled by the other.
Hastings will feed off that energy that Douihei is shining.

We need to walk away from some of the core rott that has been at this club for too long.

You could replace basically all our backs excluding Brooks and Doueihi. Nofo is good with the ball but we need guys that don't get walked around defending on the wing.

You can't replace that many players quickly but we have Hastings and Giddart coming next season. Hopefully they take two spots. We still need more outside backs though.

Ken M looks slow.

Agreed, he obviously plays his best when he's in control but he still doesn't have the game managing ability to be the man leading a team around. Can play some good footy and has been but not sure if he's a half who can lead a team around during the pressures of a finals game or something.

Glad he's playing good though but he's not vocal and doesn't fire his team up like the top halfbacks do. If he can only play his best footy while in control he needs to learn that but he's played 150 odd games already...

Craig Bellamy turns any player into superstars, he looks at the player builds on what they are good at and turns them into superstars – he does not try and adapt them to his style. Somehow each player can play their best style of game and bring that into 1 team.

WE need a person that can do this. We do not have bad players we need a coach that can identify each players brilliance and build on that.
