I was there when a young Chris Lawrence scored a long range try against the ponies on debut, I spoke to the more mature Chris Lawrence about that day years later in pre season training at Valleys Die Hards ground in 2020 home ground in Brisbane, he said a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then. I shook his hand and thanked him for all the good times. He said to me thanks for your support. I got a feeling at that moment that this man was the real deal, an honest hard working player and a great role model. During a hard morning training in the heat he kept motivating the young guys like Momo and Tommy. I'm sure I speak for most supporters Chris...Thankyou for your loyal service!!!
