it blows my mind how one eyed most tigers supporters are tbh. Evans, Mcqueen and just about any other 2nd rower with a bit of size and ticker is way better then any thing we have including taylor. We need forwards that dominate tackles. we need forwards that bend the line with bruising runs. We dont have them no matter how good people think our juniors are etc not one of them has that aggression factor and is effective.

This isnt a slight against woodsy but we need to surrond him with Mongrels.

Spot on. Look at the size and power of the Storm( Bromwich, Finucanne, McLean, Solamona), Cowboys ( Scott, Taumololo, Lowe, Hess) Raiders ( Paulo, Boyd, Papalli, Soliola) Sharks ( Fifita, Gallen, Graham, Lewis, Prior) Eels ( Matagi, Mannah, Scott, Mau, Meroa) Roosters ( JWH, Napa, Evans, Cordner)

We run out with good players but lack power and aggression around Woods (ET, Lawrence, Edwards, MCK) The only players that dent the line are Ava, Sue and Aloai who are real goers but get played out of position or for limited minutes. We need more balance natural size and power that also work hard. We find hard workers that are always undersized ( Halatau, Galea, Fulton, ET) to name a few.

Look at yesterday's game. No co-incidence that melbourne has been up there for so long with the size of their forwards. Mclean and solomona are giants. That's what we need some big aggressive boys. Evans would be perfect and Mcqueen would give us that experience on the edge. We cant be picky as any big aggressive forward is going to be an improvement on what we have.

If he was 3 years younger i have no issue with what we are offering but 3 years at his age of 30 is a concern.By now i would have hoped we have learned not to offer contracts to players who are on the decline due to age

Is he on the decline? Bit unfair if you're just generalising.

At 30 you are declining.Your body takes longer to get over niggling injuries and there is more wear and tear to your joints/muscles.This is something that even with the best athlete has to face, playing in the position where he does it only makes it worse.Dont get me wrong he could be very very lucky and be ok but most are not that lucky.Look at all of the players we have purchased over the years who have been 30+ when we have signed them, put all the good purchases on one side of the ledger and all of the failures on the other. The result is not pretty

So basically you're saying we shouldn't have anyone on our books 30 or over?

Yeah it would of been a cardinal sin if we had had Thurston and Smith (both turning 34 this year ) on our books 😱pen_mouth:

How old was Like Lewis when he went to the Sharks and if he did not go to the Sharks they would be still looking for the first title. Okay a guy like McQueen might not be in the class of Lewis but he is miles in front of what we have

Jeremy Smith played till he was 36\. Beau Scott is 32 and has been a very good pick up for Parra. Not every player north of 30 is a bad signing.

I would take Luke Lewis over McQueen next year…Just on NRL tonight then saying he still feels good and will re-asses mid season about going around again...

McQueen has scored a try and saved the Titan's butt a few times in this half, and I think he's defending in the centres.

He's had a huge game tonight playing in the centres. Good game awareness, good energy and good leg drive with his hit ups. He doesn't go backwards even in 3 man tackles.

Light years in front of our plodders. He had a massive game tonight against a very strong physical side playing out of position. His effort playing in the centres was a little bit better than Lovetts effort last year

He's a class player. For some reason we overrate our own players and dismiss clearly better options.
He is better than anyone in our back row and can play centre well if needed. He is the strongest player at the Titans pound for pound in their testing.

He's a pro, that's for sure. I wonder if he turned us down and we came back at him with an upgraded offer, hence why we're linked to him again.

Throw in the fact the Titans are a gutsy side who continuously punch above their weight. Given how soft our underbelly is to most of our supporters, surely it couldn't hurt bringing to the club one of the key components of the guts the Titans possess.

Agreed. The only issue I can see is Lawrence wouldn't be in the team as I think you would need more size if running with ET and McQueen. I think Kane Evans at prop and Sue back at lock would change things, Lawrence off the bench.
