Ciraldo Signs with Dogs

Heads will explode on here if they get Madge. Gus knows how to get his man.
Doggies will challenge for the title in the next couple.

I’ll be watching with interest to see what all the fuss is about.
People are blindly supporting an untried serial assistant coach. Wow , to me he just looks like a normal person ? To go in and bat for him on here is a bit rich, haha , he’s never coached,

can you please tell me what to expect with the dogs next year , and how long will it last ?

Cant wait to hear it, we dodged a real bullet.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I live not far from Belmore. Canterbury Bankstown area don’t suffer with fools, they are ruthless.
RSPCA located not far in Chullora, general knowlege , all lost dogs end up at the pound there. Adoptions are available.

I agree with you. Personally, I’m happy Sheens is back in the current climate vs an unproven Ciraldo.

Still…he BS’d us with the line he wasn’t ready to coach first grade and signs with Dogs weeks later.

With integrity like that, we don’t need or want him anyway. It’s Ivanesque…

Yeah, while I am still not sold on Sheens return to coaching, he is a better outcome than Ciraldo for five seasons.

Sometimes ones lack of integrity benefits others. I am fairly confident that this will be one of those times.

The bigger story here is that Gould has been allowed to run his mouth on various paid platforms, denigrating the Wests Tigers publically, all the while working under his official capacity as the boss of a rival club to attract this coach.
Through his paid gigs on Chanel 9, he has offered expert opinion telling this coach not to come here and that is a massive conflict of interest. He should be removed from Chanel 9 commentary and the Monday night show immediately.

Yeah, while I personally believe it's worked to our benefit in a roundabout way, this is certainly a conflict of interest for the reasons you say. I guess if Ciraldo does pay off as a coach, you can absolutely make the claim he subverted us.

Club bosses and current players should not hold media positions anyway. That's not to say they shouldn't appear on/in NRL media, but to be paid by media organisations to push their club agenda isn't on.

I don't disagree tbh.
The embarrassing factor at this stage is that we were so public with our interest, and fell short.
Pascoe was on national FTA television saying we were confident after making a compelling offer to him - 72 hrs later we had to announce that he'd turned us down.

Yeah, well the embarrassment lies once again with the Tigers heirarchy by shooting their load before the deal was complete. They have form with this with JAC, Latrell, TPJ... Absolute amateurs at times.

Sheens was even guilty of it with Ciraldo.

Mate I'm fairly certain sheens was following direction from board and ceo with ciraldo

With how things played out do you really think sheens wanted ciraldo?

Yeah I suppose you could well be right there. When the Fedora was trumpeting that Ciraldo toured our facilities and made the comments on SEN that he was sought after, Sheens had no choice but to follow that line.

For every Belamy (successful assistant coach, that became a successful first grade coach), there's plenty of Barretts, Holbrooks and Obriens (assistants at successful clubs that made them highly desirable). Taking off my Tiger's glasses, the Dogs look the better of the two options for him to succeed at. They have the better side on paper and better facilities, we are starting to catch them in both categories, but they still lead us. Both have a visible top dog, which wouldn't be great for an aspiring coach, I wouldn't think. So the same "con" there. Just wish we hadn't spruiked him, then this wouldn't even be an issue/thing.

Gus gets what Gus wants. He just makes it happen. His track record is of success literally wherever he goes. Barely ever fails, and unlike Bennett doesn't leave them in a mess.

So much for our press release saying "Ciraldo doesn't want to coach in the NRL yet".

Who's head?

Anyone here but shadow object to the Dogs hiring Madge? Anyone?
Is Madge going to poach our talent? ok Hastings, Doueihi maybe Stephano we want to keep. ...

please Bulldogs don't hire Michael McGuire. Anything but Hiring Michael McGuire. oh and don't take Brooks + Tamou + anyone else... Please don't do that! (in my best Briar Rabbit voice).

yea but it is at a cost. It's Gus's way or the highway.
The Bulldogs have lost a lot in taking Gus, Gus won't work with an organisation, he will redo it in his culture.

In some ways that may have been better here, The dogs do have a culture and a lot of past players and I suspect they have all been transplanted. We lack that, Wests never had as strong a culture as it should have (i.e. Tommy R's death and our players barely fired), I say that as a magpie true. Balmain has a very strong culture, both clubs need to bleed their culture into us and that still hasn't happened.

Bring in Gus though and he will supplant what you have.

All said and done Trent Barrett might be an alright assistant coach for us.

I would take Sheens over Gould anytime!
Back to reality, the only coach that pulled the WT out of the swamp vs footy show celebrate!
And, anyone thinks that Gould and Ciraldo would come alive to the WT?

CC is the highest rated newby coach coming through and deservedly so. He’s worth the gamble and the tigers were right to chase him hard.
But it’s a gamble, he’s had a massive great nursery at penwif, with lots of great talent coming through. It’s the easy way to look good with a great first grade team with tonnes off good juniors but that doesn’t translate to success with another team.
You can see why he went to the poodles compared to us, as they have recruited much better than we have. But as others have said that will mean they will want quick results and a lot of pressure will come his way if they don’t. Unfortunately Gould has handled this situation much better than sheens has, keeping tight lipped about the process is a much smarter way to play the game. But it’s hard as the blowtorch is on our club with the media, and is hard to avoid the scrutiny.
Well remember how Gus handled the Ivan situation. He said “it wouldn’t surprise me if Nathan and Ivan were reunited soon”.
We all thought that meant Nathan joining his Dad at WT but the reverse happened, And Gus had knifed us, in the heart.
Smug but powerful bastard.
