This is 100% correct!

Yep, they've rushed this statement out and I think it's the only explanation. They know fans will be outraged so are trying to soften the blow as much as they can, before we're 'surprised' with an announcement via the media, not originating from the club.

At least they are trying to beat them to the jump.
In years gone, they'd have sat on their hands and wait for the crap to fly before issuing a statement.

@ said:Very odd statement…given that Woods has apparently already signed elsewhere...
Cooling off period is still in play that's why
@ said:@ said:@ said:About bloody time they had a deadline …
But basically the club knows there gone !
What I said before Hobbo , again the club wants to come out smelling like roses
This takes the blame game and points it solely at Woods and Tedesco ….
I don't agree the club can come out of this smelling like roses happy.
I think it reflects badly on the club that our two star juniors don't want to play for us, especially when we have made generous offers for them to stay.
I, as a member, want to know why. I'm afraid that we will only get spin from management.
@ said:@ said:@ said:@ said:Happy not trying to upset anyone here, but what more could have the club done? And what was so bad for these players to treat the club this poorly?
Just asking
Honesty I guess for starters , the players had no idea Taylor was going to be sacked and the club knew for at least two months it was probably on the cards
Really the club knew for 2 months we were going to get flogged a couple of weeks in a row triggering his sacking? If they'd won all 3 of those games do you think he would have been sacked? Should the club have told the players, just quietly, that if they had a crap start to the year the coach would get the punt? Honestly, just do a logic check on some of this stuff before always assuming everyone is incompetent…
The club approached Cleary in January asking his interests and then they made it official the night of the Canberra game
@ said:I THINK the club has only its self to blame if they had sacked JT at the end of last year and brought Ivan on board then we may have seen a different out come. in saying that I think ivan will get the right players we need to change the club around. sorry to see teddy go but moses and woods I hope they have hamstrings injuries for the next 4 years, I did not want them hurt just inconvenienced for the term of there contracts with the clubs with no salary caps.

I think the club is sick of this dragging along and the longer it goes on the longer it gives the rorters and the dogs time to move players on, get TPA'S. I dont think they have signed with anyone yet for th3 club to come out and do this. I love the fact that if they don't sign it dimishes their value as our offers which are meant to be the highest are no longer their for isaac to use.

Disagree, I think we have agreed to terms with Johnson and Matulino but can't take the next step until these guys are sorted.
@ said:That last paragraph seems to lose a bit of professionalism.. Almost like someone different wrote the last part. A bit rushed and a little bit of anger and frustration coming through? I don't know, kinda gives away the pending outcome of this situation I think.
@ said:@ said:Could put the Roosters and Dogs with the upper hand in negotiating with Isaac Moses.
"So, your clients have had their offers withdrawn by the Tigers… in that case we offer $300k less"
Players lowballed on the way out
Not really. They could stay and get money that I believe is way to high. If they decide to leave, then they get what they get. Tough. Not the club's fault.

So they had a contingency plan in mind if they weren't satisfied with the performance of the coach, so what? You think they should've told the players that? "If you boys go crap, which by the way we think you probably will, the coach will be out the door". Honesty doesn't come into it, it's just none of their business. That would've completely undermined the coach and been grossly unprofessional.
If they'd been winning Taylor would still be coach. There was nothing to tell the players until it reached the point that they were moving the coach on, or had agreed to terms with another coach for 2018 and beyond.
