The smart money is that the club is attempting to soften the blow. They've basically said "you'll hear from us tomorrow". So if that's the case then what they tell us can only be bad news. They can't announce anything even if they did sign due to this COP crap.

Agree, I'm glad they did. The club appears to have done everything they can.. I think deep down we all knew this was coming.

I don't agree the club can come out of this smelling like roses happy.

I think it reflects badly on the club that our two star juniors don't want to play for us, especially when we have made generous offers for them to stay.

I, as a member, want to know why. I'm afraid that we will only get spin from management.

Wouldnt it be interesting if they actually did say why they chose to go elsewhere -, but truthfully we dont have to look very far to find a few good reasons.
It might come out at the end of season but it will be generic responses by all until then.

Really the club knew for 2 months we were going to get flogged a couple of weeks in a row triggering his sacking? If they'd won all 3 of those games do you think he would have been sacked? Should the club have told the players, just quietly, that if they had a crap start to the year the coach would get the punt? Honestly, just do a logic check on some of this stuff before always assuming everyone is incompetent…

The club approached Cleary in January asking his interests and then they made it official the night of the Canberra game

So they had a contingency plan in mind if they weren't satisfied with the performance of the coach, so what? You think they should've told the players that? "If you boys go crap, which by the way we think you probably will, the coach will be out the door". Honesty doesn't come into it, it's just none of their business. That would've completely undermined the coach and been grossly unprofessional.

If they'd been winning Taylor would still be coach. There was nothing to tell the players until it reached the point that they were moving the coach on, or had agreed to terms with another coach for 2018 and beyond.

I THINK the club has only its self to blame if they had sacked JT at the end of last year and brought Ivan on board then we may have seen a different out come. in saying that I think ivan will get the right players we need to change the club around. sorry to see teddy go but moses and woods I hope they have hamstrings injuries for the next 4 years, I did not want them hurt just inconvenienced for the term of there contracts with the clubs with no salary caps.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The majority of punters knew JT wasnt first grade material. He supposedly had a clause that said he wouldnt be coaching this year if we didnt make the 8\. The management used to JT to get rid of Farah. But instead of replacing him with Cleary they let him waste a whole pre season. When tedesco a so called JT supporter comes out and says it was good to have a gsme plan under Cleary it shows you how bad JT was. Yet there is such a dis connect between management and players its alarming. Oh well start again, all faith in Ivan.

I dont think they have signed with anyone yet for th3 club to come out and do this. Haha I love the optimism but I seriously doubt we're close to landing Johnson. If we were able to land him it would be an absolute bloodbath in the lead up. The Warriors would not let go of him lightly.

That last paragraph seems to lose a bit of professionalism.. Almost like someone different wrote the last part. A bit rushed and a little bit of anger and frustration coming through? I don't know, kinda gives away the pending outcome of this situation I think.

Well there is a typo in the last paragraph to start "As soon as Woods and Tedesco make give…" and personally I didn't like the use of their last names.

Not really. They could stay and get money that I believe is way to high. If they decide to leave, then they get what they get. Tough. Not the club's fault.

Nailed it. If they go that is their decision. Don't expect everyone to cry now that you're gone. Happy will tell us all how bad the club is but I think the club is great and has handled this whole drama as well as they possibly could.

The playing group is junk

The reason is because we can't recruit and rely so heavily on "potential"

The reason we can't recruit is because we are a basket case off field

Yet we don't really change off field , it just blames coaches and players

And management just assume most fans at this club are fools

And if fans can't see this , management is most definitely RIGHT
