Club Statement - Tedesco and Woods

Yeah, I got to admit its going to be tough watching these blokes play for the rest of the year.

As long as they don't dog it I guess I will be there but it will hardly be a great atmosphere for the rest season.

Same here I think if they signed somewhere else I would be happy to move them on straight away because of the way they've treated the clubs fans that have supported them through the bad times I wouldn't even care if we lost every game as long as we had 13 real Wests tigers out there I would be happy

That's true I don't want to see them playing in a pantomime on the field for the rest of the season. They may hurt themselves if they try hard and would not be able to play for their new club next year.

The smart money is that the club is attempting to soften the blow. They've basically said "you'll hear from us tomorrow". So if that's the case then what they tell us can only be bad news. They can't announce anything even if they did sign due to this COP crap.

Bravo, these contract negations now can be put to bed after Friday, as other have said they have both already signed elsewhere one would think, but now we can concentrate on building a squad of players who want to be at the club

Not going to matter SC , no one of note will sign anyway

Its funny when you think of it , most pundits thought Brooks was the one we should let go

Yet he is the only one we could secure

More proof of what players think of this club

Hear the rumbling , the revolution is coming …....

Happy, your probably right, we are not going to snare a Foran or Cronk, but we might get a few NRL standard players who are real pros who want to give back some real effort for the money they earn. I said it before, you assemble a squad where the best player is pretty close in standard to the bottom player, like Canberra have done. No super stars, just 17 goers

Imagine what our sponsors are thinking? And definitely no TPA's coming our way either.
These guys have hurt this club no end I just hope they realise that.

I just hope that the Dogs and Roosters don't make the finals for the next 4 years, that would be Karma.

About bloody time they had a deadline …

But basically the club knows there gone !

What I said before Hobbo , again the club wants to come out smelling like roses

This takes the blame game and points it solely at Woods and Tedesco ….

Happy not trying to upset anyone here, but what more could have the club done? And what was so bad for these players to treat the club this poorly?
Just asking

Honesty I guess for starters , the players had no idea Taylor was going to be sacked and the club knew for at least two months it was probably on the cards

I think you're being pretty naive here. I know for a fact that Cleary had informal talks with a few clubs over the last 6-12 months. It's pretty common for clubs to put the feelers out on guys in Cleary's position - i.e. out of work, experienced coaches.
That's not tapping up, that's due diligence.

The actual timing of the sacking was ridiculous, no arguments there.

As for this so-called revolution, what do you hope to achieve? The club cops it from fans and media alike on a daily basis - do you honestly think they're happy with this, and aren't trying to turn things around? Come on.
News Ltd in particular has a huge issue with both Marina Go and Pascoe, and isn't afraid to hide it. Yesterday Hooper was laying into us, today Paul Crawley has written another takedown that may as well be straight from the desk of Isaac Moses.
The club definitely needs to get itself sorted out, but there's clearly movement on this front. Both on and off the field.

But they could announce that "the players have informed us that they will not be accepting our offers and that we wish them well in their future playing careers*"

Really the club knew for 2 months we were going to get flogged a couple of weeks in a row triggering his sacking? If they'd won all 3 of those games do you think he would have been sacked? Should the club have told the players, just quietly, that if they had a crap start to the year the coach would get the punt? Honestly, just do a logic check on some of this stuff before always assuming everyone is incompetent…

Could it be that some of the "Plan B" external options have agreed to terms with Wests and want to sign (and secure their future), but can't till a decision on Tedesco and Woods is finalised?

Ivan's video on Facebook is pretty good. He is the strong coach and presence we have lacked.

You can make arguments either way. Strange statement and strange timing.

This is 100% correct!

Looks like the club has finally gotten fed up with the Dutch auction Mosses has been trying to orchestrate. Stay, go. I really don't care. Just get on with the decision so that the club can get on with plans for the future.

Good stuff. Want Tedesco to stay but I don't think the need for an ultimatum is encouraging.. Woods can't leave soon enough. Looking forward to the end of this saga and for the club to be able to finally move on.

Good on the club, I'm sick of hearing the same old crap about the on goings of these 2 everyday/night from the media, at least after Friday we will know how much money we have to spend on players we have to buy and get in early on some of the players that are on the open market, and not be waiting forever and a day for these 2 to make a decision

The club approached Cleary in January asking his interests and then they made it official the night of the Canberra game

I reckon it went down like this:

That last paragraph seems to lose a bit of professionalism.. Almost like someone different wrote the last part. A bit rushed and a little bit of anger and frustration coming through? I don't know, kinda gives away the pending outcome of this situation I think.

Well it doesn't sound like something you would say to the members if they were going to stay.
As it was pointed out earlier, sounds like they released this to soften the blow once the news come out that they are leaving
