Maguire...we need to own it,we need to be better for longer parts of the game, more resilient.Sick of hearing the same crap, this is his team,he has the players he wants and has chosen.

Agree - Did we target there play maker today.
Kearny ran too much with nil pressure,

I listened to the press conference but he is not stating where we are falling down - Right hand side is one.

He is starting to sound clueless.

Left hand side. The left was where the points were scored.

He called the left edge out on it in the press conference. Hopefully he takes action on it

Sure did and seemed annoyed when asked about changes.

Our attacking structure is fine. When we actually have quality ball we are able to break down opposition defences quite well. The problem is we never get quality ball. We are always working the ball off of our own line.

You have to ask why we're always working the ball off our own line? It's not the only reason but it is directly linked to at least two of the tries today:

Terrible last tackle plays that led to a 7 tackle set or the opposition put under no pressure. This happened a few times. Both games we've failed to build any sort of pressure. Almost zero repeat sets.

It appears that most successful clubs study the opposition in the week leading up to the game and put strategies in place to beat them at their game. Do we do this? Doesn't look like it or do we capitulate as soon the opposition scores a try against us. We play like chooks with their heads cut off, no structure, no composure, no leadership, no resilience.

Watch the press conference mate

Just watched it then mate. Disappointing. Either these players need hearing aids or a good kick up the ass. Looking at how to manage Keary and Teddy leading up to the game, all I saw was space for Keary to run, absolutely no pressure and plenty of shirt grabbing. Clearly not the plan and this team does NOT know how to follow a plan and hasnt for some time.

Stopping Keary and Tedesco has been an issue for all clubs since 2018 unfortunately. We just do it worse than others.

There were half a dozen players that just didn’t put in today. Something is wrong there.

It's been the case since start of last year, Maguire doesn't have the dressing room, I was told that last year on a few occasions by Josh, who I've known for years....the players just simply don't want him as coach...its plainly evident by the lack of effort by some players with plenty of ability

There is no desire. Where is the rage to make amends when we make a mistake. The bottom lip comes out and it’s curtains.

The rage was in the stands watching that crap. I’m still fuming.

2 areas of the team issues are the following:

Edge Defence - too much space and time, no urgency nor communication. You use your sideline as the extra defender. We tend to defend up and in which leads to massive gaps on the outside. I would much rather us use a up and slide defence moving the attackers towards the sideline by limiting space but that means your inside defenders need to work overtime.

Attack in opposition 20M - i struggle to see any creativity or build pressure to score. It is so easy to defend. The fact that we have only scored 2 tries through a dummy half tells you everything. This is the one area that Madge and his staff needs to take some blame and fix. Brooks needs to be blamed also as he is the one that is meant to control the tactics to score when in this position.

We have given Brooks to many chances to succeed. I think it is time to let him go or drop him so he gets the message. Because we have Madden, Talau, and Laurie who can take his spot. I don't get why he hasn't gotten the message. The reason this team isn't succeeding is LUKE BROOKS.

Madden not up to it
Talau is a 6
Laurie is a 6

Maybe we push Douhie to centres or Mmbye
Move Brooks to 6
go and buy a 7 (not a fan of Aiden Sezer or Sam Williams) but not much out there

Anyone who isn’t putting in should be moved on like Josh. They aren’t as good as they think they are.

100%. That to me shows more about them not respecting the Jersey then not respecting the coach! It should be a privilege to put on any Jersey in the nrl. I goto work every day and have to bust my ass for a boss I dont like but I do it because it's a great job and I need the money. The players shouldn't be ruling the club and putting in shit performances because they dont like the coach when there's fans paying money for memberships and/or game day entry. Its only shitting on us fans not so much the coach

Well the left edge was responsible for 4-5 tries

disagree, we only show any promise when we have quick play the balls. However i bet most teams have the same.

We have no idea how to breakdown a set defence. We go left with block plays get tackled. Go right with block plays get tackled. Bomb or kick it dead on the 5th.

You do realise that block plays worked in 2014 and works today ??

However this is supposedly Madge’s team.
Very disappointing start to the season

The only way Maguire will coach a team in the 8 is if the storm replace Bellamy with him and that will only last for a couple of years before he gets the sack in year 3

This is just crazy talk to me. The players don't like the coach and therefore they aren't performing. This is professional sport.

The players need to perform on the field and I think they are trying. They just aren't performing yet.

I'll add like others have stated we have a rough draw to start with and we are a team with lots of new players. It's going to take some time to get it right.

Josh Reynolds? Is this like Sitaleki Akauola dobbing on the coaches because he couldn't get a run?

I don't trust the word of anyone not getting a gig in first grade due to his own bad form, trying instead to push the narrative onto the coach.

Lack of effort on the part of talented footballers falls back on the footballers.

There really wasn’t much trying in that second half.

The reverse, of course, is where players love the coach and are too comfortable, and don't perform.

Exactly where is the onus on the player to perform whether or not they love the coach?

Personally I don't believe this. It's professional sport. We were beat by a team that is much more professional than us.

These guys are paid big bucks to play. The coach is paid big bucks to coach the team. It's not backyard footy where you can just not perform or even worse come up with stupid plays.

I don't think we were as bad as what we were yesterday but we were completely outclassed an the coach and players have to turn it around.

Personally, I'd like to see some offloads. BJ got slammed for it last week when Roberts dropped it cold, but thats the key to getting us moving up field as far as I'm concerned. We have big bodies and speed to support, yet we continually just roll through the sets. We've always been broken field specialists. I suggest we play to our strengths. But being awake and in support might be beyond the mental capacity of these blokes.
