Our current W.T. board are so pathetically hopeless, they can’t even make the decision to tell our most divisive player ever “to just bugger off”.

Our most capped player should not be told "to just bugger off", that post in disrespectful in the extreme. The reason we are in the mess we are now is the CEO stuffed up and the previous coach signed washed up players to large contracts. Robbie Farah has a right to talk about this club, much more of a right than any of us, yourself included!

I don't think he has a right anymore, he is an ex player now... not until he becomes an ambassador of the club then he can talk for the club.... what he says as an ex player would be held the same way like blocker or benny would - take it with a grain of salt

So long as he's suggesting that Matterson is being a flog he can talk all he likes...

he's still entitled to his opinion and he's not talking on behalf of the club, he's talking about it.

Of course he does, he is the clubs most capped player and a Life Member of the club. He bled for this club and no one should tell him "to just bugger off" especially someone who's 1st preference is not the Wests Tigers!

Exactly, and what he said about Matterson is in line with what the vast majority of forumers think. He was defending the club. No idea how anyone could have an issue with what he said.

Only people who hold an irrational grudge against him could have a problem with it, the type of people who refuse to renew their membership because the club hasn't decided yet if he will be an ambassador for the club!

Sounds like he was defending the club and giving his opinion on the situation... expressing what most of us on here have said since this started. Hopefully he stays involved with WT and not just bugger off

Agreed, I hope he takes up the ambassador role and also helps out mentoring the young hookers and halves we have at the club!

I stand corrected - apologies

@cochise

Agree mate, with the new bunch of hookers joining the club, I personally believe Farah will be a great asset to assist them. Can only be good for the club going forward.

Same here. Major Sponsor seems to like him too. Was on their podcast a week or so back. Keeping the corporates happy and teaching the next gen coming through can only be a good thing for WT.

@Muffstar

Especially now that his competitive nature towards the other hookers will also be removed as he is no longer competing for the position with them!

I think it's pretty obvious that Matterson's manager would have taken exception.

Robbie is quoted on the NRL site (quotes from the video) saying the following:

“He came to us as a bench backrower and he had a great season. He shouldn’t be upset with the Tigers. If there is anyone he should be upset with it’s his manager...

“I love Matto, he’s a great guy ... (But) the way it has been handled, it’s been quite poor from him and his management."

I'm assuming that Matterson's manager has complained and the club has taken the video down. I can't think of any other reason for it being removed.

@MAGPIES1963 With all your negativity towards the club happy to hear you have cancelled your membership now if you could give upon one more thing

That's astounding the club would post that. Pretty much an unofficial announcement that he's gone. An obvious ploy of presenting themselves as the good guys in all of this.

It was part of an NRL podcast series, on the NRL website. Not sure WT had much say in it at all...

@balmain-boy They uploaded it onto the official tigers page.

With the pages all being linked it is possible that it goes up automatically to the Tigers site when the NRL posts it on theirs?

@cochise possibly but not everything about the tigers on the NRL website goes up on our one. The initial Matterson story that came out from Chammas, wasn’t uploaded on our website if I recall correctly.

Yeah mate, who knows how it all works, there are probably certain tags that are included that will automatically post it to the Tigers site. I would guess it is all automated is all I was thinking.
