Confirmed: Matterson released from Wests Tigers.

So in effect....for the eels this year....they get Matterson mid contract and we get to play them twice at their home ground.....

I'm disliking the eels more than anyone right now.....

Cannot imagine playing our home game at Parramatta again if there is any other option. Surely WT management aren't that stupid!

where else would we play it? NRL wouldn't let us have it at LO or CSS

AFL shows how it is done. Players wanted trades out of Essendon and Sydney, there was no offer that made it worthwhile so they are stuck there.

I was thinking this while listening to some guys on radio talking about the trades in AFL. It's all above board in the AFL. It's not a one sided situation where the players hold all the power.

I reckon we will get screwed with the Matterson deal. I can't see it working out for us. I think though we should play hard ball.

Said it before - I'll say it again, if you don't get exactly what you want, you play 110% for us Buddy, if you tank, CC for you, if you tank again you sit out two seasons. However, if you want to get paid you turn up to watch every game and every training session. See how you like them cookies d'face.

I feel like I keep repeating this comment as well. Why make a deal. He is really good player who is a dog of a person but he isn't a dog like De Bellin for instance.

He isn't bringing the club into disrepute. He is just being a greedy spoiled brat. Just be difficult with him. Let him come back to us with a deal that works for us. I reckon we want at least a SOO calibre player on 300k. If we can't get that then it's no deal.

Self inflicted out of favour, what an idiot, he and his manager have only hurt is brand. Imagine if he feels this way at whichever club he goes to after a year there?

I just don't think some people really think things through, he only had the year he had due to being given a regular starting spot with us and this is the thanks we get.............pretty sure other clubs would see that. Good player and all, but wherever he goes would have this whole thing in the back of their minds, he and his manager wouldn't want to play this out again.
