You're going a bit OTT. Outside of the forum, I haven't seen anything about this for a week. The club hasn't done anything wrong, nor has anyone in the media claimed we have. Its been the opposite, we've received a lot of sympathy. To put it in perspective, a player wants out of his contract, he hasn't been accused of rape or been done drink driving. And it's not a situation where the club will be dudded like it was with the big 3, cos we have him under contract for 2 more years. And the only way that changes is if we can get a better outcome than we would by keeping him. Exactly like the Cleary situation. You complain about that, but there's no doubting we came out of that drama better for it with a better coach.

My biggest issue with the media ATM is, are they complicit in knowing Matterson is unhappy at our club and have they furthered his efforts to upset the natural order/enquire about a pay-rise as ultimately- none of any of this can play out the way it’s seeming to unless there has been some *sort* of rule breaking and people in positions of untapped authority within the game seem to totally turn a blind eye. Maybe nothing will eventuate but you can bet this exact same thing is going to happen again at his next contract negotiations

That's my concern too spud. We need to make some smart decisions now in order to stay a viable entity in the NRL.

Would it have mattered? The guys was still saying how much he loved being at WT and getting upset about people questioning his integrity all the while going behind one of his great friends back and negotiating a deal at Penrith......oops i mean talking to the Chairman at Penrith about buying his house.
The guy was /is clearly a liar and judging by our Chairs comments at the time about Nathan coming to Wests, how do you know those questions weren't asked in the interview process?

Agree with you mate!! If he is toxic or even slightly at odds with Madge’s methods then it will ultimately be his loss... just saying the chances of us ever replacing him with another quality player in that position were low from the outset.. if he stays it’s unlikely for the right reasons (simply my opinion)
