Stuff Parramatta. There's no player that they'd be willing to release that would be worth our while. If I were the club I'd say your options are playing for us or the Gold Coast and we'll take Brimson or Arrow as compensation.

I can't see a scenario where Matterson plays for the Eels and it's to our benefit.

Absolutely spot on comments.
Stuff Parra.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but the SMH running with this story and including comments from forum favourite, Mitch Moses.

WTs really need to ensure Matterson ends up at the Gold Coast, Dragons anyone but that slimy club.

What would we gain from a cash settlement?? It would not help our cap situation except for Matterson’s contract money and we than have to find a replacement.
If we hand him on a plate to Parra we will be the laughing stock of the NRL

As for Moses he just went another level lower if that is possible

That website’s totally shite and incredulous.. don’t think Panthers could afford TBH

Thanks TB I’m aware of the of The Leaker and his ? as you put it...Just trying to get back on topic?

Absolutely! I am really hoping he leaves without dragging us through the mud anymore but the longer it goes on, the less likely I think a good outcome will occur. Who knows !

He can try but think most of the media and other fans see him as a whinger who will go to any lengths to break his contract. The things that have been said about the coach and the club have come from ryan not the media putting the boot in as they have in the past.

How come cash settlements and overseas transfer fees aren't included in the cap. If Parra are going to pay him 600k and us 500k to release him then surely the amount to us has to be part of their cap.

Agreed, but of course that may be the answer. Parra pay the transfer fee for the big Pom who has been linked to us.

As others have said we need not only a quality replacement and a big contract removed from our books for any deal to be rubber stamped

I think Moses is that low that he could walk under a snake with an umbrella up.
It must run in the family as I think Isaac is just as low and Benny isn’t far behind.

That $500K might be in one of Uncle Nick’s Brown paper bags, so it’s not counted in the cap.

Cash is unacceptable imo. It was ok in the Cleary situation because it was outside the cap and enabled us to get Maguire. In this instance, cash is useless. Its a player swap or nothing.

bottom line if parra offers us "x" and titans offer us "y" then surely it's up to the tigers to choose the offer best for them?
I'd rather deal with a Knox Grammar swim coach than have anything to do with Parra

But is a player swap realistic. Tigers are disadvantaged as they have player wanting out compared to a club looking to pick up an unexpected quality signing.

A top tier or middle tier club won’t let go of talent they want (also that player would need to want to join tigers and wantto go to a clunperforming worse then current , at best they would join for overs only)

realistically only clubs that would entertain swap would be bottom of the table club like titans. Again they would only release player of quality if off contract in 21 ie arrow, however he would demand huge bucks and can he be fitted in the cap

I’ve got it on good authority that Parra are very high on Sivo and will attempt to upgrade his deal ASAP - don’t think they’ll give him up

Only negative with the bloke apparently is that he smokes like a chimney, trying to get the guy to stop lol

I don’t want a outside back, we need more forwards if we wanna be anywhere near the top 8 next year

Junior Paulo or Nathan Brown - that’s the only ones I’d consider

Shaun Lane and Kane Evans had good seasons but would need more in return to let Matto go

Build him a smoking room and with a chimney if that is what it takes for us to have a penetrating runner.

Could use the money to buyout a ESL contract?

What about if said Player 'slab of meat' X has a contract with one of the Clubs interested in Our 'slab of meat' Matterson doesn't want to come...?

What worries me is that we are trying to replace a very good player (who wants to get away from our club) with another player from that club- why would he want to come to our club- and WHY are players wanting to leave our illustrious club- apart from the fact that we are not managing to get into finals.:white_frowning_face:

I'm not sure what the answer is to this problem, I'm sure it's all about money though but they do not want to put in the hard yards to really earn that money. All players are being paid far too much.
A system where they get paid for the "work" done would be a far better arrangement, but I know that will never happen now:white_frowning_face: :white_frowning_face:
I'm back in the doldrums

How about we call up the Dragons

They have a second rower who’s trying to get out, we have a second rower who’s trying to get out

Maybe offer Matterson for Frizzell

Dragons receive a good young player in Matterson

We receive a great player about to enter his prime in which will make our pack much stronger!

Or to fill a brown paper bag of our own!

I would guess Frizzell would already have his new destination lined up!
