Behind that pack Cronk would also struggle.

That did cross my mind. Anyway there are opportunities everywhere.
I really think that Big 4 may not be such a critical thing for this club any more.

Where does Coops rank on the Plod-O-Metre..

Surely a solid 25/25..

Obviously your sarcasm metre is shot

He'll go to the Dogs if anything ….

Don't know about that , wherever he goes he will be looking for a quality 9 …...

Ballin's still fresh

Could we do a swap of Ballin in exchange for Cronk ?? We could throw in some crutches and a box of elastic bandages as well

I like Open..plays a number of positions..

Keep Calm everyone…

I love when a plan comes together . Piss both Brooks and Moses off, sign Cronk for 2 years by then Nathan Cleary will be off contract at the end of 2019 and in comes the Father son combo from 2020 and beyond.

Milkman I was running with 1 fantasy signing and the rest actuals / probables. You have gone all-in fantasy land there.

They are throwing money from the top floor balcony and you want people to keep calm!?

Please, this thread is going to rocket over the next 48 hours, 30+ pages easily without a skerrick of fact of Tigers approaching Cronk.

Just because Cronk is moving to sydney to be with his fiancé does not mean he will sign with a sydney club. More then likely he will retire and go into the media

The only potential downside i see with Cronk is that he has always been part of champion teams and surrounded by champion players… Melbourne, QLD , and Australia.

How would he go in a side like ours, charged with leading around an inexperienced squad and playing behind a forward pack that can easily be dominated when they are off their game ?

To finish off his career he will probably look for a big payday at a successful club, and not diminish his legacy by moving to a club in a rebuilding phase like ours.

These long distance relationships never work
(Cronk / Rushton )

Look at happy and Geo , their always bickering !

So why not announce his retirement then? He announced he was leaving, not retiring.

Certainly not "more than likely"! 50/50 at best. The guy already had a contract for next year and is reigning Dally M and Golden Boot. Why would you bow out when you could rake another $1-2M for two more years, build up a bit more stock in Sydney then retire to the media?

In fact saying that, it makes great sense, you develop more of a following and association with the city via a few good years at a Sydney club, then transition. As famous as Cronk is, he's still identified as a Melbourne personality who represents the Maroons.

I'd move for Tara as well

Actually I'm moving for Tara as we speak

Slow down old fella.
If you keep moving that fast you might have a heart attack.
Slow down and enjoy the moment. 😀

One of the problems for Cronk is that a lot of Sydney clubs have already spent over the cap as they thought it was going to be 9.5 million now it's only 8.4 some clubs would not be in a position to offer him big bucks or they will have to have a fire sale.
