Corona impact on NRL...?

Obviously in the minority, but as one that used to attend the games, including the odd journey to Lang Park and being pumped as hell to hear the first whistle blow to start each match, I have gone to rarely watching live in recent years.

As such, not really fussed what they do with the series, as long as they prioritise getting the normal comp back up and running in the best possible form.

It will be a bit strange having it after the season but at least it will stop the broadcasters talking about origin for months on end. All over and done with in about 15 days will be good.

Vlandy's was just on triple m and said the reason for SOO at seasons end is to maintain the integrity of the season. With the season being shorten it will be important for teams to have access to their full rosters.

He made a good point I feel!

It's as good as situation as you could expect. It will help teams like us that can't keep up the intensity for a full season.

So true - can't remember when we last won 3 in a row!

I had to google it. Rounds 4 to 6 in 2018. The only time since 2011, when we won 9 in a row.
An ugly stat
https://afltables.com/rl/teams/wests_tigers/wests_tigers_st.html

Some ugly reading in general.
6 consecutive games in 2002 where conceded 5 tries.

I do hope that thr NRL understand that WE r one of the only sports returning.......that means that we r most likely gonna have a large international viewing rate....... hopefully they take advantage of this

I just don’t get the date thing. NRL are like a bull at the gate with the attitude about this.
it won’t be NRL that make the final decision but they are really acting like they are the only ones with that starting flag.

School Children back to school May 11..

Schools never closed.

Most school chose to...mine did 2 weeks before holidays started

Public schools didn’t

My son's school did and won't re-open anytime soon.

In NSW?

Yep, he'll be home schooled from next Monday again because the teachers unanimously downed tools and are teaching from home.

Umm...excuse me? The "teachers unanimoulsy downed tools ..." That's utter rubbish.

The NSW govt decided that schools would only remain open for students "at risk" or "children of parents in essential services" for the last weeks of Term 1, and that same edict will apply for the commencement of Term 2.

I can only assume you are referring to a private or systemic school, as opposed to a public school?

No, I'm familiar what school my son attends.

It's great that you are "familiar" with the school that your son attends. That would be the least we would expect.

It's another thing altogether to infer that teachers at a school had unilaterally decided that they would "down tools" to keep kids in home schooling. Perhaps, the school in question is enforcing NSW govt and DoE policy?

@willow is someone I would trust in this situation, he is usually spot on with what he posts and if he is saying that is what happened at his son school then I believe that is what had happened. It is not DoE policy but I believe his son's school is completely closed!

It's not a matter of "liking it" or not. You could clarify with a simple Yes or No, if your son is enrolled in/works in a public school or a private school.

Public schools are "open" and teaching kids, on site, from Monday next week. None of them are closed or demanding that kids are home-schooled.

Refer to page 88. Not quite sure why you're so uptight about it.

I didn't infer anything, simply stated what my son's school has implemented. Not my fault if you don't like it.

In my day I would have been happy if they downed tools ...me and the cane knew each other far too well

I'm not surprised at all! lol

Some were just ridiculous ......I'm doodling on my biology book and then realize it's the schools biology book

Assume the position Mr Tiger ...still remember it 35 years on

I got close to the cane once! Principal called my dad and got permission to cane me, made me put out my hand and then brought the cane down on the table next to my hand!

And Cane toads have flogged us ever since!

Hardly suprising LM in particular seems about as smart as a lamp post with JAC not far behind

So glad we didn't sign the million dollar lamp post

If they can not be trusted to abide by nsw health rules, how can we trust them when NRL resumes. Do they go into 14 days isolation now or are there separate rules for some?
