Saying one club has already seeked legal advice on when it can stop playing players. Lot of pain to come across the code in these times.
The reality is this is what the majority of the country faces. Why should NRL players be exempt?
Unlike most of us in our jobs, NRL players have a contract which is legally binding
Isn't it funny that many players don't have a problem with breaking a contract when it suits them and their wants
Now the shoes on the other foot and it's not acceptable for the clubs to break the contract
By the sounds of it there may be an agreement reached for some kind of ongoing pay to the players
Let's hope is a good outcome for all
I have a full time employment contract. If things get gnarly I will be working less hours for less pay or I will be at home without pay if the business suspends operations.
Players won't get paid if all the club's and the league go broke.
I'm shocked that these guys think they are so much more important than the average punter....they think there would be no league without them?? Well without fans there would be no league.....Most of us love our footy, and would turn up to watch two teams go at each other with guts and determination who play for the love of it if that's what we had. These guys don't know how to read a room......so bloody entitled
Absolutely. They are carrying on like they are somehow an essential service.
Reality check lads: you toss a pill around for a living. You're very good at it, but you're not curing or treating a virus, keeping things together in a trade or keeping people stocked in the limited retail and food chains that are still open.
