Coronavirus Outbreak

@pawsandclaws1 seems from the inquest today quite a bit of attention paid to NSW Health biosecurity expert and the decisions he made that allowed the Ruby Princess to disembark. Appears there may have been errors made by NSW Health as well.

Person attending protests in Melbourne COVID positive ... there’s goes your freedom back to lockdown ! Thank you to the Left of politics !

There's this woman on TV who organised the protest in Melbourne for BLM. She started blaming the government for the guy testing positive while in the protest. I can't quote her verbatim but that's what she was inferring to.

So I've been tracking how many countries across the world have 500 plus cases Covid a day

It started at 32 ....peaked at 37 ....and is now at 31

Hopefully the slow downward spiral continues

The problem with that Happy is most of the countries who are affected now would not be providing accurate figures. In the majority of countries it is because they dont have the infrastructure to test and collate the figures unlike other countries like Russia/North Korea who would not be telling the truth even if they did know the extent of the problem

I do realize that some countries are fudging their figures , but they are fudging them every day so it doesn't matter if I rule them out ....

So if 8 countries for example are fudging the books are they are all over 500 we still have started a downward trajectory numbers wise

And places like India, Pakistan and Brazil where they will flat out never know due to the impoverished getting picked off and unable to seek help.

For what its worth, we have had a big spike in numbers in Aus last two days, 33 cases. Not a lot in the big scheme of things but double what we have been getting. Keeping an eye over the next few days.

They are over 500 cases a day ....well and truly

Yes but the 33 are not community transmission , mainly imported cases at hotel quarantine

I think it’s poor form by the government letting in Luke Thomson from uk so he can play for the dogs , whilst business and citizens are still under restrictions

But the trouble is, it's countries with big populations where it's taking off - India and Pakistan are a real worry now. As we know Brazil is off the charts (even with very low testing), as well as nearby countries like Peru. And after a slow start, it's really spreading in Africa.

If wealthy European countries with good health care systems and effective testing struggled to cope, how are countries like Nigeria and Pakistan expected to cope?

And in our neck of the woods, Indonesia is now registering 1,000 + cases a day.

Yep. India now getting 10,000+ a day, and Pakistan about 5,000+ a day. True figures much, much higher I'm sure.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about those countries ...when you have the population per square km these countries have it was only going to be a matter of time before the numbers skyrocketed

The more each singular country gains the upper hand on Covid the more we can start heading towards the next phase

Some countries we will just have to hope and pray Covid burns itself out as quickly as possible and hope the vaccine is just around the corner

There has just been an announcement about a drug(steroid) that has been around for a long time being the most effective treatment for people with covid-19(BBC website). It is dexamethasone and has good results.
It is not a vaccine but is apparently the most effective treatment for people who already have it.Apparently it is also fairly cheap

That explains Xerri. He thought he had COVID-19

Attributed to the marches perhaps?
Btw I have no problem with the marches it is just very unfortunate timing

Many social places have reopened as well pubs/clubs/restaurants restrictions are starting to ease across the board.Though undoubtedly a certain section of the media will blame the marches and nothing else
