The Coronavirus is exposing weaknesses that have existed for a long time:

The appalling condition of social housing in Victoria (perhaps elsewhere)
The casualisation of the work force that has resulted in workers moving from one aged care facility to another
Inadequate staffing and a general lack of expertise in privately run aged care facilities

The problems are not just "coronavirus problems" they are underlying issues that have always needed to be addressed and have now caught us out.

State and federal governments have both been found wanting, regardless of their political branding. There is no point in politicising these issues. We should judge our politicians on what they do to address these problems now that they are apparent.

Agreed but knowing our politicians all they will do is find scapegoats and cover their own rear ends

Great comment in The Age - bad move by the Vic Liberal Leader Michael O'Brien to criticise Prof Brett Sutton for taking the day off. For O'Brien, everyday is off.

I can only speculate on agenda.

1 - Monetary & social balance. Alot of poor & middle class will need to take a step back from the economic damage that has been caused, while the rich continue growing their wealth.

2 - Push for future vaccines or meication. No one will be forced to take a vaccine but you will most likely be restricted in your choice of occupation & future International travel.
There is no money in cures, bandaid solution is where they make the money.

It will lead to a vicious cycle.

Man you are speculating WILDLY. There is no way this benefits ANYONE financially. All economies are tanking.

So the WHOLE world takes a bath, rich, poor and govts, so BIG PHARMA & Bill Gates can make a buck?

Every time there is a financial crisis you can bet your balls someone is benefitting massively.

Would that be the illuminati or the reptillians?

Man there are some extremely naive people in this word
I don't know if I feel embarrassed for them or sorry for them
Over 17,000,000 CASES REPORTED so far
Over 666,000 DEATHS REPORTED so far
This is after flight cancellations across the world
Cruise ship cancellations across the world
Country boarders being shut down
State borders being shut down
Small towns being shut down
Some suburbs being shut down
Hotel isolations
Self isolation
Wearing on mandatory masks in countries and now in Victoria
Strict social gatherings including sports events like our NRL
Overflowing Hospitals world wide
Make shift morgues
Mass dug graves in cities in the USA to help cope with the deaths
Deaths of young and old people
Deaths of doctors and nurses trying to same the lives of those infected , some of those being naive people

Any yet we still have people who don't believe in the virus or how deadly it is
A message to those people
DO YOU KNOW OR UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS WORLD WOULD BE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW WITHOUT THESE RESTRICTIONS BEING IN PLACE

These are the same morons that believe themselves to be some form of freedom fighter through refusing to follow any form of social distancing guidelines, or restrict their movements.

O'Brien is appalling. He's been sniffing around since the beginning of the pandemic looking for something to make his mark on. It's only a few weeks ago that he was complaining that Victoria was being too slow in opening everything up....Oops - then silence, of course.

Poor old Brett Sutton looks worse for wear every time I see him on television. It is unbelievable that anyone would begrudge him a rest day. O'Brien is not doing himself or his party any favours by attacking a hard working public servant.

He should look elsewhere to try to prove his relevance. (And good luck with that)

It goes for a hour mate......
Way to long for a dull topic

Yeah just ignore it, it's only first hand knowledge of a hospital pretty much killing people, people that present to the hospital covid free who end up getting put in with covid patients then contract it and are put on a ventilator and don't walk out.
They have no family or anyone who can protect them from the "treatment" because nobody else is allowed inside the hospital, they're restrained to the bed and pumped full of drugs and ventilated to death.

But an hour is too long to waste to find that out.
3min lies by mainstream media is much more digestible, I understand

Lol

Vic has over 700 cases today.

A prisoner in a NSW Gaol has tested positive. Fortunately he had been kept in isolation without physical contact because he came from where? Vic!

That's an interesting point that the government has made in regards to this.....

Police took him in to the holding cells at surry hills where he stayed until the next day, whereby he was taken to parklea where he tested positive to covid. They say parklea reception centre is being deep cleaned, but sure as eggs this guy would've had a cellmate in the cells, as well as face to face contact with the guards at surry hills, as well as potentially having a cabin mate during his ride to parklea. So depending on when this battler got his tests done there was potential for 3x shifts of officers at surry hills, plus 2x transport officers, plus escorting and arresting police, plus any other inmate that he had come into contact with.

What a mess the Ruby Princess investigation is showing up, it was established today that an officer from Border Force misinterpreted a form and believed passengers had tested negative for Covid 19 when the results were were Negative for the flu.

Now they deserve the six months in prison that you suggested earlier for the Queensland girls. Plus the one of them that isn't co-operating with the tracing team can go in for a month or two as well if the law allows, just to set an example for those considering acting similarly.
