What about the fake version of Covid that Trumpty Dumpty found in the US

I think it's known as Trumpy's Clayton's Covid ...the Covid you get when you don't get Covid

After all this time we had a week when we were informed that staff in NSW quarantine hotels were still concurrently working at other locations. Now quite unbelievably, 2 international arrivals were allowed to transit through Sydney's airport onto a domestic flight to Melbourne.

At least they were picked up in Melbourne, as this failure could have destroyed the opening up around the country.

We shouldn't even have quarantine hotels - our borders should be completely locked until its under control overseas. The only cases we are now recording are from those in quarantine or those working in quarantine. Someone is always going to ignore the rules and put the country at risk.

Didn’t want to join in a week or so ago when the above was posted, but remembered it and was thinking hasn't this post aged well.

Quarantine, just like the failures in aged care is a federal responsibility and should have been carried out by Morrison and his minions from day dot. No ifs or buts. This guy is not that dissimilar to the bloke on the other side of the Pacific in shirking and shifting responsibility, plus almost certainly was also looking at the let it wash approach before Andrews said enough and started closing things down. To then send the attack dogs to create division during the Melbourne lockdowns was despicable. I note the state is 50 days free from a community case this very day and flourishing

Too little too late from our national government in protecting our communities and getting Australians back home safely. Meanwhile we the taxpayers bail out our international airline with almost all their planes and staff sitting idle and Morrison allows the infected to stay at hotels of choice and roam around our cities. Plus we had a jobs for the boys near empty RAAF campaign plane flying over stranded citizens on Cormann's tour.

Enough you lazy bastard that doesn't take responsibility, nor like to work weekends and is on holidays again, likely with his photographer in tow. This when a year ago he left the country burning whilst pretending he wasn't in Hawaii, staying an extra day or two and the desperately needed for co-ordination defence minister took off for a break as well.

Yes, I am angry!

Good post. The breadown of the Federation with Premiers grandstanding about 'tough borders' when no such borders exist reflects poorly on the Feds. The politisation of this terrible virus to gain political advantage is also disgusting.

Alan Joyce should look like roadkill. His sense of entitlement after his airline has been bailed out by the taxpayer is hard to take. How dare he suggest future passrngers be vaccinated.

When our daughter returned from the UAE in August, she had to be tested for Covid before she could enter Abu Dhabi from Dubai and have the results within 48 hours of crossing the boarder, and no longer than 72 hours before she boarded the plane.
I don’t know why all incoming passengers are not tested before they are allowed on a plane, it wouldn’t stop all cases coming here, but you would think that it would minimise the amount of Covid cases from returning passengers.

Was that a govt ruling or an airline ruling BT

It was. UAE ruling, but wouldn’t it make sense to test all incoming passengers before they boarded an airplane.

South Africa is saying there's a mutated version of covid doing the rounds there that seems to affect young healthy adults more.

And in the UK there's a more contagious strain exploding.

Oh wow happy days! All this and crap wet weather for days on end to boot! It’s just so depressing 😞

Send the rain this way ...we'd kill for a wet day ...34 degrees and 70 % humidity is fun for only so long

Time to blow up the shire bridges too.

Yep.

The Hawkesbury needs to be blown up also so the Central Coast is protected from infected Sydneysiders - permanently!

We’ll just go the back way ?

Sorry but the Defence Force are setting up roadblocks even as I type this - stay away ?

Mate .. you can keep the central coast all to yourself ..
It’s like St Mary’s with a beach .

Not where I am ?

Where are you then ?

Toowoon Bay ?

Used to go to Shelly beach as kids
Gone downhill a lot ...

Yeah well I guess everything has gone downhill to how it was when we were kids. Too many people, too much ‘progress’, too much congestion now. It’s hard find a nice quiet, untouched place anywhere these days, though Broken Hill comes close lol.

You should be heading in the opposite direction. There are many great beaches on the South Coast. Port Kembla is way underrated because you automatically think steel works. Not so, it is a great little beach. Bring your partner and take her to
Tonitos.

https://www.tonittocakes.com/

I went back to the South Coast in June this year for the first time in over 20 years! It was nice actually and being winter it wasn’t crowded at all. We went a fair bit further down than Port Kembla though.

I must admit Port Kembla isn’t a place I would usually pick to go for a holiday, I don’t reckon many other people would either. Perhaps that’s why you found it so nice!

The beach is great and less crowded than many of the more popular locations and a straight forward day trip from Sydney. I was raised at Austinmer and know all the beaches the Park, Wombarra, Scarborough, Coledale, Sharky, Thirroul, Bulli and Port is right up there with water quality and surf.

Don't stop at Bulli. Woonona is great if you want waves. And far less populated than most others.

There is an interestng comment in the SMH from obviously a NSW Health officer. He or she mentions the case of returned Australians from North America granted compassionate entry due to a family member being admitted to hospital. They arrived at hospital without Covid testing or having done self isolation.
