That is horrendous

Night curfews in those LGAs of conern is required. Citizens still not doing the right thing.

Will night curfew make a difference?

Reducing mobility will make a huge difference especially in those LGAs where the Premier indicated family/friend interaction is largely responsible for the growth in numbers of cases.

Is that happening at night though?

My view, and plenty will disagree, is that level should be closer to 50% than 75%.

I can't see that happening. In the US vaccinations rates are about 70% and they are getting significant increases in cases.

I agree with your principle though. We got to open up at some point. I'd like to see what number they are comfortable to run with. I reckon it should be every has had the chance to get vaccinated.

The problem, as it has been all along, is people.

The simple message is this; If you stay away from other people you can't catch it and you can't spread it. Whilst the vast majority of people are doing the right thing, it's the tiny fraction of people doing the wrong thing who are keeping us locked down.

Ironically, that same minority are the ones whinging the loudest about the lockdowns. They're also likely the conspiracy theorists who won't get vaccinated.

Don't get me started on the Alan Jones' of the world. The ignorance and mis-information is staggering and they should be prevented from saying anything unless it can be supported with actual scientific evidence,

50% represents two thirds of willing participants which will do me.

I think it should be 100% of willing participants. Change the criteria.

People are going to die but you don't want to create chaos in the health system. People are getting angry in the US because the unvaccinated are screwing everyone else over.

Yep. This whole outbreak would be over if people just only left home to shop once per week and go for a walk every day.

How hard is it ?

The problem with the unvaccinated, is ok they can die, but they spread the bloody thing before they die. It should be compulsory. No jab, no work place access and no Commonwealth benefits. Simple. Do we have to wait till it starts killing kids??????????

It is not just that either, by spreading it amongst the unvaccinated they are giving it the chance to mutate into something that is resistant to the vaccines. That's why it is important to get vaccination rates as high as possible.

There's a socio-economic element to non-compliance. Don't want to be more pointed than that.

With some people, unless I can see it, feel it, taste it or smell it, it's not a threat. The socio-economic reference above is 100% correct. But of course you cant actually say it. Can you????

Make welfare benefits dependent upon it and they would be lined up out the door...

It really is a lack of education and critical thinking skills that leads to people believing any rubbish that comes across their facebook news feed. They are unable to determine what is a valid source of information and what should be avoided.

My wife is fillipino. Her sister married into a Muslim family. She is refusing to get vaccinated and she thinks it's cool to travel from Lakemba to Vaucluse. She doesn't want her 10 or whatever kids to be vaccinated either.

My wife's family will take any vaccine and have taken the Sinovax vaccine in the Phillipines.

At present, I spend far more time here than on Facebook because of all the rubbish being perpetuated there. And I even feel trepidation before checking into this thread...

The least compliant people I know are the most educated.

This post makes me concerned.
There was comments about this type of community stance were raised by journalists in today's 11 o'clock press Q & A, but not addressed by the pollies.

I doubt if there is any link between "welfare benefits" and "covid".That sounds suspiciously like the misinformation that you get from the conspirency peddlars

Good idea in theory but at the end of the day... people have rights and choices.
