Plenty pal, it ain’t hard. Maybe take a look at places like Israel are doing. Don’t be scared.

I have, what did you find when you took a look at Israel?

Mass outbreak, hospitalisations and deaths in a 90% vaccinated population?

Israel certainly has some problems at the moment with the unvaccinated getting extremely sick and dying.

So we keep hearing, but in fact they have about the same per capita (per million) case rate as US & UK and between 1/3 to 1/4 of the per capita deaths that the UK & US have.

Nobody is being prevented from returning home to QLD. If they've been in a 'hotspot' (ie NSW) they need to go into quarantine for 2 weeks.

Same as when I returned home from overseas last year, along with many thousands of other Australians throughout the pandemic.

Weren’t you one of the lucky ones that managed to get back home to Australia from overseas, very fortunate.

Not really, this was pretty early on in the piece. The various caps on international arrivals were implemented once things really started spiraling out of control and the 'big' lockdown 1.0.

I wouldn't want to be trying to get back home from overseas now, that's for sure. Took my mate's wife + child many, many months to make arrangements to get back over here from Indonesia. It'll be about 13 months by the time he finally gets to see them both again (once they finally finish their two weeks of hotel quarantine. At least they lucked into one of the nicer hotels).

The situation of someone claiming to be 'stuck' in NSW looks like a walk in the park by comparison.

Any reasons why that might happen?

I don't believe it's anywhere near as bad as that comment states.

Ahh graphs, and from Our World in Data no less!

The statistics in Israel don't tell the full picture.

Some communities have extremely high vaccination rates and some are pitiful.

West Bank and Gaza for example have absolutely abysmal vaccination rates. Even before this, Gaza had a healthcare system with pretty limited capacity.

Sorry but why is it that the vaccinated are contracting, transmitting, being hospitalised and dying again?

Because the Vaccine isn't 100% effective? It is pretty simple really, a couple of weeks ago in Israel 60% of cases were caused by 17% of the population. Can you guess what the 17% represented?

What is it with the interstate bashing, particularly the female leader of a particular state, though not really asking as pretty sure of the two main reasons and we elsewhere have been able to watch months of footy and her constituency attend as a result of governance. Tasmania's health minister also wants vaccination rates in the **ELIGIBLE** 90% plus range, but most are unaware because of politics and media. I support such decisions as it gets us to 80% plus of the population.

As for Israel, the graph below shows their double vaccinated rate is **62% of the total population**, which is equivalent to about **77.5% using Australia's parameters**. Israel's single dose rate below compares to around 84% with the figures we are dished up daily.

And how does it impact the 99.9% survival rate?
Sorry I’m not good with maths

Australia is australia

Israel is israel

U get jab u dont die

Simple as that, many cases have proven it, ik quite a few people whose lives were potentially saved by the vax just becuase they got covid when they were vaccinated and only got minor symptoms

62% of Israel is vaccinated. There's a heavily unvaccinated Palestinian population not counted in those numbers. All probably vectors and spreading infection without being accounted.

Have a look at Iceland instead maybe. Island nation, no Untermenschen unaccounted for among their populations. Averaging 30-40 odd cases a day at the moment.

Portugal. 84% double dosed. Daily cases rapidly dropping from late July when it peaked at around 3.700 daily cases, their double dose rate was 51.0%. Cases steadily dropping and down to under 1,000 daily.

Yes of course you can still get covid even if your vaccinated, the vaccine is not a cure it is a layer of protection, up to 95%….

95% is not 100%…. They’ve been telling us this since day one.

But the vaccine helps protect you from developing severe symptoms from the virus and it also reduces the risk of you spreading the virus onto others.

Heard vaccine caused big number drops on India too.

People really need to do own research not come on here for info

With respect mate, you are the one coming into the thread stating that we all hadn’t researched so it’s not cool to be all coy with your data and information.

Where are you getting 99.9 ***survival*** rate. Depending on where and when you catch COVID between 1-4% are dying. Where are you getting this 99.9% ***survival*** figure?

Own research is overrated as many people do not know how to do that in an effective manner. People need to speak to and listen to their doctors, if their doctor tells them something that goes against the consensus then they should probably seek a 2nd opinion.

Same as NSW.

We were getting up to 1500 daily cases and steadied out at between 1100-1300 about a fortnight ago before starting to drop. Adjusting 7 days for vaccine to come into effect, from the 7th September, where at the time 40% of the eligible state has been double dosed. Lockdown stemmed the rapid expansion of cases, vaccination has appeared to have reversed it.
