Pretty sure this problem is in the same state in which their leadership were long lambasted for wanting to keep restrictions in place longer and only relented under severe pressure from the federal government, plus the state opposition and their supporters.
Yesterday I watched in semi horror when the long lines outside WA nightclub reopenings were shown, as even though those youngsters are likely to be unaffected if there is virus still in the community, the effects of the potential spread to the more vulnerable seems not worth the risk.
Whilst we have been generally cautious in our approach, the economy will only properly pick up when confidence is coupled with control of the virus and we were nearly there, so I am sick and tired of hearing about the need for freedom.
The places that have dealt with this well have shown that swift and decisive action is required early to get an outbreak under control. I would really like to see Victoria move to at least localised lockdowns very quickly to get this back under control because I see part of the problem being that as a nation we have done a great job with this and now people are underestimating how quickly it could turn.
Agreed and also pretty sure that like others, you were also wanting us to continue the more severe measures for a few more weeks or so to make sure the true community spread numbers were low.
