41 new cases in Victoria, starting to look worrying again.

This is what you get with lefty do gooders running your state ... security personnel having sex with Corona positive hotel quarantined people then going out into the community ..the Victorian Government is a farce ... Gladys please closure the border and shut them off !

Snake, I can easily counter that partisan rubbish with the fact that Australia wouldn't have had an issue if a Lib controlled state didn't let in an infected ship through a Lib federally administered port.

Yesterday I watched in semi horror when the long lines outside WA nightclub reopenings were shown, as even though those youngsters are likely to be unaffected if there is virus still in the community, the effects of the potential spread to the more vulnerable seems not worth the risk.

Whilst we have been generally cautious in our approach, the economy will only properly pick up when confidence is coupled with control of the virus and we were nearly there, so I am sick and tired of hearing about the need for freedom.

I think both NSW and Victoria kept theirs open. It was the smaller states that sealed themselves off, and it seems to have worked for them. WA/SA/NT have no active cases as far as I'm aware.

Yeah I was, I would have went another month. I was also very concerned about the footage I saw in WA over the weekend and the BLM protests have been problematic as well. In saying that I believe moved early on the belief we could control any outbreak that occurred with strong contact tracing and a more prepared health system. I am really worried that Victoria is about to lose control of the contact tracing and the ability to break the chain of infection. I have already seen Victorian politicians blaming this outbreak on the National Cabinet's push to lessen restrictions. At this point in time I think that is counter productive and all energy should be focused on getting this under control.

The door to door testing is a good intiative to start to claw back some ground as it will catch those asymptomatic cases but will also push numbers up over the next week, so I doubt we see any improvement in Victoria for at least a week, maybe more.

It's a concern, but it also probably indicates that government is getting on top of the problem.

Yeah you are right, a number of those cases have come from that targeted testing which is a positive, it also appears that the known clusters are being quite well dealt with as the numbers from those are relative low as well.

I know it has been suggested that Victoria was slow in getting information translated into other languages and that might be the reason some of the family clusters they are seeing eventuated. It is interesting that the most conservative state in reopening is the one having the most issues.

Unfortunately the "need for freedom" attitude which has been so prevalent in certain states in the USA is starting a resurgance of the virus in areas which previously were only moderately affected.
